i think most math is important but really shouldnt carry as much weight as it currently does in public school system

there needs to be more (widespread) applicable alternatives to math prereqs for graduation. maybe like a Budgeting class, etc. to help people live within their means in all walks of life

disagree. pure mathematical conceptualization* is fundamental in analytic troubleshooting and other forms of conceptualization. life skills can be learned outside of a classroom, in extra-curricular activities, your parents, counselor, etc.

              * = general mathematics and sub-categorical derivatives which include, but not limited to, physics, biology, chemistry, psychology, and sociology

Is there a statistic on the average marginal propensity to consume in America? I would guess it's pretty close to 1

if this was introduced into the current education system, it'd be a disaster lol

Also depends on what you consider a "life skill."

I think stuff like personal finance needs to be taught as a mandatory subject. I suspect many problems would get resolved by that alone.

I think the first step would be to get more kids to actually care about their education
