If you hate that, then there really is no reason for you to get an Xbox since the main reason that people get it is for Xbox Live.

I've said before I'd only get a Core 360 for Rock Band, but just for that one game... it'd be at least$500. Not worth it.

I laugh because single-player modes on all of those games are pathetic. Gears? Halo 2? Utter crap. The games were clearly designed as multiplayer ONLY.

As for the 3RLOD, if you still haven't sent it in yet (I skimmed the topic) you can permanently fix it (RLOD-wise) for about 10 bucks yourself. Pretty sure they will repair the 3 rings for free now. Three years is pretty nice. By that time I'm sure it would be time to get a new one anyways.

You seem to be forgetting that Halo 2 is an original Xbox game released almost 3 years ago. It's not a 360 title, so stop citing it as one.

The single player mode on Halo 2 is not pathetic. It's far too short, but that's because of the timetable Microsoft ended up giving Bungie. It if hadn't been all about November 9th, perhaps the single player game would've been longer. Regardless, the gameplay itself is quite entertaining. Not every game has to play as long as Knights of the Old Republic to be a good one.

Hoochan: By 3 or 4 i mean the rings. Your 360 (when in red ring of death) will have 3 rings or 4 rings lighted red. Think of it as you have four people playing, but instead they are red. And the 360 is a genre of M rated games. That is who they are trying to appeal to, and it works.

And yes, FPS are better on the PC. The mouse gives you a hell of a lot more accuracy than a joy stick. The controller and be better for some games however. It all about preferences.

The single player was horrible. The plot was pathetic. The action was pathetic. Everything was wrong. AND it was too short. Compared with the first game, Halo 2 was clearly designed to be online only. I don't mind when games are too short. Heck, I finished Katamari Damacy in 5 hours. It's the initial play and replay value that make a game like that. Halo 2 had no replay value and the initial playthrough wasn't fun either. Therefore, it was a bad game. Katamari Damacy has endless replay, and the initial playthrough was awesome. Therefore, it was a good game.

Make sure that its out in the open. What happens is when it over heats it melts the sauter (sp?). If you have 3 (i assume you do) then take your hardrive out, and get your 360 to an open space. If you have 4 then your effed. After your 360 is out in the open and cooled down for quite a bit, then turn it on without the HD in it. If it works then sweet! Next turn it off and put the HD on. If it doesnt work then you need a new HD.

Meh, I thought that the first Halo was better anyway. The third one is up to the 360's standards, however, and I should find it more enjoyable. I mean, they've been showing trailers and predicted release dates for over [at least what seemed like] a year. On top of that, I'm pretty sure that some of the tweaking occured before the trailers were released.

Bungie wouldn't screw up the final game. It just wouldn't happen.

Oh how wrong you are. Just to humor you and myself, I just tried turning the system on without them. No red rings. 3 means its a lil over heated, do as I said, and try to take out the HDD. 4 means that you are totally and utterly screwed. The sautér has melted off, you need to send it to Microsoft.

There have been situations where I've either knocked over my 360 or there was a power outage, and the red rings appeared, which might go with Hoochan's idea. I don't remember how many rings there were, however.

This behavior occurs when the Xbox 360 console experiences a hardware failure.

It's solder, by the way (not sauter) and I'm sure you read that somewhere instead of looking inside the system and figuring it out for yourself, and what I've heard is instead that the GPU overheats due to insufficient cooling. But hey, you know everything, right?

And you know what I did to get these quotes from Microsoft Support? I went to a magical site called google.com, and I typed in:

"Four lights flash red on the ring of light"
and
"Three lights flash red on the ring of light"

As always, Google took less than a second to generate something that would take your small brain hours to figure out.

At work someone wanted to trade in a 360. The part of the male of the AV cables was bent up. It plugged in, but did not register it. Red light? Nope, none. And my intentions was not to be rude or to be an asshole, but apparently yours were. Please dont flame me. Thank you. And hoochan, my post was to be more informative than asshatish. All I did is a test myself to see if it was true, and for me it was not.

You could've Google searched that within seconds. If you want to be informative, spend 30 seconds on a search engine to find out if what you're saying isn't total crap.

And in regards to that 360, did you try using another set of cables?

From what you describe, your conclusions are completely unfounded. "well, it didn't flash the red lights so therefore Microsoft is wrong, or my system is somehow different."
