Lost Planet was T last time I checked.

As for the 3RLOD, if you still haven't sent it in yet (I skimmed the topic) you can permanently fix it (RLOD-wise) for about 10 bucks yourself. a mouser and keypad are more accurate....supossedly. I've never been an FPS guy myself but its what I've generally heard. Now with a wii mote (and if it had some decent shooters), then that would be totally different.

The Wii Remote is the only substitute for a mouse and keyboard that I've seen, but it's still not quite right. Once the Zapper is released, we might see some better FPS action on Wii.

Joysticks? Can you influence the rate at which you turn with a joystick? Can you spin around 180 degrees in a split-second when something is attacking you from behind with a joystick? Can you get pinpoint accuracy in a half-second with a joystick?

Mouse. and. Keyboard.

If you adjust the sensitivity, yes. Besides, I don't want to be jerking around that quickly, it throws me off.

So, yes, I'd most definitely prefer a joystick and buttons to a mouse and keyboard.

Lost Planet is M and my warranty is still in effect so I don't need to fix it myself. Thanks anyway, though.

I'd save that link anyhow. MS released a statement saying all 360s are defective, so unless they change up the production you'll be getting back crap 360s. Sooner or later that warranty will run out.

All my nintendo consoles, despite being left in the garage, roughing 120+ degree summers, they still work perfectly. I give them kudos for that.

They don't make consoles like they used to it seems.

I guess they're more worried about making them fancy looking and more graphic intensive rather than durability.

My warranty will run out in January 2010 so I wouldn't worry that much.

And I have no idea what I was thinking with Lost Planet. I thought it was M for some reason :P

Um, Squeek, please give me your list of reasons for FPS's belonging on the PC.

Why do you think popular console FPSs like the Halo series use autoaim? Take something truly precise, like Counter-Strike, and put it on a console. It's already been done, and it bombed. Console FPSs are fun, to be sure, but there's no way they're as precise. Precision allows for more diversity and quicker reaction times. Not to mention, autoaim lowers the skill level one needs to be decent.

Squeek: I'm hearing from everyone that Gears is great. Who plays a game like that for its singleplayer mode, anyway?

Gears is terrible. I play solely offline, and Epic did a terrible job with it. If I can beat a game in one sitting you know some thing's wrong with it. Lan matches are incredibly fun, but the lagged bullets online are getting ridiculous.

As for the 360 only having killing games, that's not true. Out of the 140 games, only around 20 are FPS's, while there are little to none TPS's. Sure, You've games like Dead Rising and N3, but you've also got the movie games, the racing games (Forza 2 and DiRT are amazing), the relaxing games (I'll mention Viva Pinata since you said most owners rarely say it), and, of course, the many arcade games.

What are the GOOD PS3 games? Lair? Resistance? Ninja Gaiden? MGS4? Looks to me those are all killing games. Oh wait, let's not forget the new Ratchet and Clank, since someone is bound to bring that up. I haven't played any but the first, but I clearly recall killing stuff with a wrench.

The Xbox might have been the shooter whore, but this generation the 360 is shaping up to be THE gaming console. Gaining Japanese support with Mr. Final Fantasy, having games that were PS2 series and PS3 exclusives switching sides, and having AAA titles coming out right and left is not an easy task, but Microsoft has managed it pretty nicely. In a way, it makes up for the crappy hardware.

IMO, Dead Rising sucked ass, but back to what I'm trying to say.

@Danceguy: I'm the minority on these forums, I'll give you that, but just about everyone I know (Excluding the internet) prefers to use their consoles. On top of that, I rest my case: A quicker reaction time on consoles would throw me off due to me moving my cursor around so fast. And most of the games I play don't have auto-aim, anyway.

Also, did the new Mercenary title get released for the PS3 yet?

I don't play online multiplayer. I've never liked playing against people I don't know.

That's why when the Wii online games start coming out (three already!) I will only play against people from FFR or people I know in real life.

If you hate that, then there really is no reason for you to get an Xbox since the main reason that people get it is for Xbox Live.

I completely agree with you, but this discussion isn't about which console is better (unless you count the PC as a console). It's more about consoles (Xbox mostly) vs. PC's.

PCs have always been better than consoles, and the one advantage consoles have ever had is that you pay a flat fee for a system that will work with the games coming out for it, with no additional equipment, for the duration of the system's life. Now, with these new systems, they're starting to be extremely pricey, and often require add-ons, and that defeats the whole purpose.

Oh, and that's ridiculous to say that Halo should've been on PC first. It never could have competed with the other FPS's, and it doesn't belong there. I'm tired of "h4rdXc0r3" FPS fanatics screaming and whining about FPS games being on consoles. It has a place on both.
