Well, honestly, music is so overpriced these days. Pirating is pretty much wrong, but I do it because I'm not about to spend a buck per song or buy a $17 dollar CD from the record store.

If I had money, I'd try to make it a habbit of occassionally buying from an artist I like, but I don't, so I pirate everything. Yeah what I'm doing is wrong and I know it, but I don't have much of a choice if I want to listen to music. By the time I buy 3 CDs I'd be broke.

            Re: LimeWire Gets Sued

Most the artists I like tend to have lots of songs on any given album, and I'm such a completionist. Even if I only like one song, I have to get the album. If it's only got 8 songs on it and costs more than $8, though, I'll go pirate it. Now, albums like Pearl Jam's rearviewmirror? A best of album with 33 songs on it for $15? CD quality, no less. That's a deal. The White Stripes' album "Elephant" has 14 song on it and cost like $12. I can handle that.

Albums with all of 30 minutes of music that cost $20? Screw that ****.

oh wait using copyrighted music for SM is illegal in the first place

There are hundreds of independent electronic music creators that make music legitimately on programs like Reason and offer it for free download. It's not hard to find, and some of it is actually pretty good. Think soundclick, slsk, etc. The same is true for any other genre of music.

It's generally agreed that the price of CDs are too high and that the actual artists are hideously underpaid, but there will always be an audience for all different kinds of music even if pirating did stop completely (hint: it won't), and people willing to make it no matter how much they get paid, because these people just like music. A thing i like about the underground scene, though, is that it's attracted so many people and new artists who would otherwise have never gotten into music at all because they just don't have the money/care enough to go out and buy all this stuff. I know that's the case for me.

also stop using limewire it blows

Public Domain music is legal. But yeah, If was in a popular band or something. I wouldn't like people downloading my songs. So that's why i don't use p2p or file sharing. Get your a** to work, You don't have to buy the whole cd just for a song. Just buy it from iTunes for 99c. So that's why i don't use p2p or file sharing http://youtube.com/watch?v=JcuH27IwWVk be careful on what you share.
