Your spelling makes you look like Albert Einstein. Your grammar is just as beautiful as a Unicorn. You slang of ***holes makes you look hip. And your approach was very talented. I give you an A+ for your work of stupidity of language. Oh wait, this was a noob post, I have to give you extra credit. For your lack of hard work in reading the forum ettiquet (sp) I give you an A++. Total score you ask??? You have earned 125 noob points. It is alright to be a noob though. Sometimes, I still am a noob.

I think without the Internet/P2P programs, people could not be aware of all the music that is out there. This causes them to become bigger fans, and maybe get some CDs or go to a concert. I think that programs like Limewire have a good side because they're informing the public about different music =/

Good thing I only use Limewire one time years ago, then i moved to Morpheus, which crashed my harddrive resulting in a reformat, then i moved to iMesh which sucks really bad, now I'm on and will always use Bearshare for all my ille..legal stuff.

it's one thign to sue limewire.
because i honestly you have to admit that limewire is pretty much free music thats available all day everyday.

but to go as far as sueing all those who use limewire.. it's pointless.
and if peopel are just going to sue corporations for giving music to people for free... why do they let these companies go into buisness?

there is a p2p program called ARES wich is just like limewire except it is free and you can upload whole movies and use your computer as a server so you dont have to download it because it will automatically use your computer for storage of there files

The level of uninformedness, incoherence, and pure unintelligence in this topic made me cry as I was reading it.

Of course they were going to get sued! Of course its not going to do anything! It's like napster or kazaa or any other file sharing program. It'll be removed and then replaced by something else.

Fish made the most concise and accurate response with his picture. RIAA has nothing on the internet.

This is a legitimate discussion. It's pointless posts like yours that would eventually lead it to being locked.

I agree completely. If it weren't for the internet, I probably wouldn't even know about 99% of the artists whose music I have on my playlists. In reality though, the RIAA can't do **** about P2P file sharing. I understand their motives, but it's just not going to work =\

Welcome to the core of my argument.

It's a good thing I made this argument six years ago.

That's exactly my strongest point. Without digital distribution over a widely-available medium, very few people would be able to discover new music. Without discovery there can be no fans, meaning no support, meaning no income.

Which is why file-sharing should be legalized. It's too massive to stop anyway, so, as the saying goes, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

Actually, this is a rare occasion, but this is where you are wrong squeek. They do promotional advertising by doing shows, MTV gigs, internet resources, and alot more. So, even without a medium array of downloading programs, there is still ways to find music. Of course, music like we have on FFR and music close to these genres are hard to come by, but not impossible. Also, in a sense, you are not wrong in one point. File sharing is only limited by the uploader. Equally, to give to a complete stranger miles away is the same as giving a file to a next door neighbor. Basically, like I mentioned earlier, it is a double-edged sword. Both sides get hurt and no one wins.

                              Re: LimeWire Gets Sued

I have never once seen a band advertise on any of the sites I go to, and I don't watch television, ESPECIALLY not MTV. Even so, MTV would never advertise for any band I like. MTV specializes in my least favorite music genres: emo and rap.

Last.FM has some "recommended artists" that I never check out.

                              That is it.

Look, without piracy, nobody here would know about The Flashbulb. Nobody. And thanks to piracy, he gets people from this site to go to his performances. That brings him money.

That's just one example with many more, such as the fact that I am now willing to spend money to see some of the bands I would never have discovered without the Internet perform should they ever come here. Piracy is like free advertising.

Mind you, artists have to pay for advertising. Piracy is free.

mtv must be getting paid by the artists they play music for because like every five minutes its the same song in the big ten in the morning
