thanks qreepy, you said just what I was going to. If he had been born deaf, then that would've been impressive (and helped your comparison chardish). And I'm not a virgin, but I'm not really arguing a point either. I guess I'm in the middle. I only wanted to be with one person in my life, and so far I have. It's a personal choice, and everybody has good reasons for why they've chosen what they have. So basically I could just quote myself and it would hold just as much meaning as the Pope, seeing as I can just as easily get information, or talk to sexocologists, and I've had experience as well. I just might not phrase it as eloquently. Anyways, I think I'm done with this thread

Shox you are amazing! I completely agree with you. It's good to know that there really are people out there "like me" who stand for waiting and it wanting to be the right person. Me, I'm set on waiting until I'm married. 19 year old virgin here and I can't wait until I get married to a wonderful guy

This is somewhat related to the so far discussion topic, it's more of a political standpoint...
We had a group of kids come to our school, they did a series of skits, the last one had 2 friends fighting, and these 4 "bad" things dancing, and basically when the girl danced with one of the "bad" things, it implied that she had done them.
The skit was pretty cool, and I'm sure it would be banned in Japan, due to the flashing strobe lights. But my big problem with it was the four bad things. These apparently move in sequential order one leading up to the other, getting worse and worse as you go.
ANGER- everyone has emotions, emotions are good, emotions spark thought, thinking is good.
DRUGS- drugs have brought about many great things, aside from their illegality, drugs are awesome.
SEX- this is the one I had the most trouble with,.. it just screams, "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T CONTINUE THE HUMAN RACE!!!
SUICIDE- duh, this is a bad thing, but I seriously doubt unhappiness, drugs, and sex lead to suicide.
So if humanity should fall to some random strain of the common cold, blame these idiots. I think the only 2 decent messages in this are, "Don't kill yourself." and, "If your too fucking stupid to realize how full of propoganda this sub-par skit is, please don't reproduce."
Kind of off topic, but still funny.Comment

Just incase anyone ever presumed something:Originally posted by whorlichanAnti--you may be right in that virgins don't really know what they're doing...but that doesn't mean it's not going to be enjoyable, even the first time, even if there is pain--and there isn't always pain. Many girls break their hymens horseback riding, or dirt-biking, or even through all the fun stuff that goes on before actual intercourse.
Hasn't happened to me.

Wow, the age-old topic,
Waiting to have sex is well worth it. I have experience with pain and happiness that involved sex. Quite honestly, sex is only a big deal if you've never had it. Once you experience it you realize it really isn't all that it's cracked up to be. I've had my fair share with a few women, and trust me, it's so much better if love is involved, meaningless sex is just that meaningless. It doesn't leave you with a true sense of happiness. It's like filling an cup that has a hole in it, sure it'll be satisfied for a small period, but then you'll need to fill it up again very quickly, thus never giving you full satisfaction.
Sex isn't really so great. Wait and it will be. But then again you might just have to experience what I have to fully understand that. Am I waiting for love? No. But now I'm caught in that hole in the cup metaphor and it's hard to keep it filled if you don't pour at least once a week. I guess I'm just a bad person.
I don't know if that made any sense, but that's my take on it.Comment

That's a great analogy though, Corey. I definitely could understand what you meant by it.

yeah, but doesn't that just give rise to another question? Before I had sex, I hadn't really had a girlfriend. Being in an uptight christian school, and being mediocrely nerdy didn't really lead to me being a big hit with the femminitas...and when you feel like the opposite gender isn't interested in you at all, it can be a HUGE hit to self esteem. I'm sure I didn't need to explain that, but just to get people to understand where this question is coming from: Is it better to not have sex for 25 years (13 applicable years), where you have serious self-esteem issues because of it, or to just go ahead and 'fill the cup' whenever you can, because it makes you feel better about yourself?
Personally, I think that the latter is better...but I'll wait to explain until I see that this made sense to at least one other person.I'll trade you this delicious doorstop for your crummy old danish.

I understand what you mean suicidal, and to me, that is just selfishness.
I agree with Spec, and I am the type without a mate, and still am, why allow someone to violate me for their self-esteem, or vice versa. Even when both parties are wanting it, it means almost nothing. IF you get a wife, are you going to be cheating on he all the time? I doubt that with the habits you are putting in place, that you would ever be able to have a wife more than a few years. She can then get half the marital assets, and you can marry again, and then SHE can get half the marital assets, and it will continue happening.
OR
You will never have a wife, and sex will be your only way of feeling better about not having someone of your own to love.
I have never had a significant other, and I haven't had a single problem of confidence. Maybe you just have less self-confidence than I do, or you have more need of social security. But either way, it is just another thing to go wrong in your life. I will be happy with one mate, and then I'm not even sure if sex will be happening in the first years. The mind is so much more interesting than the body. Although I don't know if you have found that out yet, suicidal.Comment

oh, i should have clarified. this was an issue for me maybe 5 years ago. Not a problem anymore. And it seems you took what i said to the extreme, which can make anything sound bad. Not that I don't agree with what you said. I just think that you can 'fill the cup' so that you have confidence, and can learn what you're looking for, and then by filling the cup you better learn who you want to spend your life with...sorry, it's a bit late right...i'll try later.
EDIT: and i have found out that the mind is more (i'll use a different word) complex than the body...both are equally fascinating, IMO...but I have to be able to be goofy, serious, philosophical, sarcastic, and humorous all within an hour, and it takes a special women to handle that. nightI'll trade you this delicious doorstop for your crummy old danish.
