But like I said, thats kind of the point of profiles isn't it? You know, leave a comment on the wall or send him a PM? I just grow tired of the lack of common sense around this site

Well saying it in the thread could be a bit more accessible and more people would see it. It's an issue of not reading rules thoroughly and whatnot.

~Shrug~ Well, if some standards aren't set for new people, things could get out of hand. Like its been said, he has already been punished for things before, but I guess thats for others to decide. I still stand by my opinion.

the reason i voted no ban was because he was only trying to help clarify the rules to a new player, not because he's a new player himself

I was talking about the new people we are starting to get for the game itself. And with all the options of notification, there was a plethora of ways that something could have been said. Thats all I'm trying to say. Its a game that deals in common sense and with a lack of it, things can't possibly go well.

Voting for the ban. Yes, it was to try to help out a new player, but rules are rules, and I don't think exceptions should be made for stuff like this.

the health of the potential player pool is more important than enforcing rules that only serve as a means to be courteous to players who are in the TWG of the time. This rule isn't such a big deal. It enforces itself when players tell others to **** off.

if we're going to play on those grounds you'll have to ban pntballa, too, for repeatedly posting in the TSF thread.

So what is the point of rules if they aren't going to be enforced? Its one person for one game, I hardly see the harm in that. We have new people coming in each weak, so I doubt we are really dipping in the player pool.

It's just courtesy, not a huge deal. You only need a slap on the wrist for breaking this rule, especially if it only happened once.

Let AC1 go, jesus. Enforcing rules for the hell of enforcing them is stupid. Enforce them when you actually need to like when rzr cheated in a game and such.

If they'd posted in a game that wasn't theirs to say "Hey I think X is a wolf" it would be something to consider punishing them for.

But as a quick, easy means of communicating to a new player "Hey, don't do that!" I don't think you should ban someone for it.

Look at it this way: He has been breaking a lot of rules, or at least bending them. I don't think a ban... But I kinda do. I'm on the fence.

This is what I was going to say. We don't commonly berate players for posting in game when they're correcting things. no reason to start now.

I have to admit that I've been bending the rules a lot, but there is some pretty clear nub bias flying my way.
Though you may disagree, the inexperienced players like me do look to the veterans for acceptable behavior examples. Again, I've screwed up and have no reason to fight any form of punishment.
My goal of making an acceptable first impression has been obliterated, but I seriously value my reputation and nothing hurts more than conversations like this. If you're willing to forgive and forget, I'd love to try and patch up any negative feelings I may have earned.
