Re: New Skill Analysis Metric (Trial Phase)

Yoshl - I don't think I have really complained much about my placements on the forum to be quite honest. In person I speak to AJ and Kayla about it, but I've come to terms that my scores and what not depict me as a D6 player. I am very upset with myself, actually for dropping in skill from not playing for 2 years. Also from the injuries I've sustained to both of my hands at the hands of concrete cinderblocks lol

I guess I also mistook your posts to be derogatory and flame like so to speak with the exception of not reading the "omfg" and "lol" It's not always easy to understand the language spoken through mere words. So my apologies.

td;lr I am quite content with being D6. It's a challenge that I've had for 4 years in this division, and I will do whatever I can to either reach the top and advance or just plain keep practicing

Also, this is an awesome thing trumpet you got going on. I think it's pretty damn amazing. Thanks for reading me my results and explaining what it meant. Sorry again for any misunderstanding.

anyways, trumpet if you're wanting to calibrate your placement more, try selecting people (maybe even me lol) who are borderline cases, and solid cases. I.e. i'm borderline D5/D6, while someone like hi19hi19 is pretty much very solid D5, and see what placements you get for those types of things.

It's not going to cover all the fringe cases obviously, but it's a good start instead of determining an arbitrary range to put people in divisions over

Thank you. That's definitely where I'm headed, I'm just waiting on Silvuh to implement some of the recent changes on the spreadsheet, and I plan to move forward with getting information on every player in the tournament. My division separations right now are pretty arbitrary tbh, but I've said that; it's just a very small sample of some of the divisions.

I'll be looking for volunteers once the changes are finalized btw, I just want to make sure we're getting good information when we do this so we don't have to do it all again.

EDIT: Thank you for the kind words Krunky

SK8R you in particular have claimed on multiple occasions that you're D6 (e.g. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...3&postcount=10). Whenever officials roll around, everyone trying to undercut their skill level in comparison to previous posts regarding where they should rightfully should be gets really annoying.

Also stop means stop, even with the one liner retorts.

Maybe we can revisit everyone's division placement issues when I have thoroughly sampled all the divisions.

In that particular instance I was claiming that people say i'm mid D6. Ive also been told i'm definitely not.

i put the spreadsheet on google docs and i'm wondering where the weighted z-score is in this:
                                Code:
                                				SUM1 SUM2 Z-Score Best Diff
                                W: original Z-score 219855.6	14501114.8	65.95745025	61
                                W1: divide by all n 11479.67281	739838.4129	64.44769157	56
                                W2: divide by played n 13858.96389	1755482.149	126.6676328	65
                                W3: divide by NGC < 28 files	17147.52476	2017537.133	117.6576306	65
i get that my z-score is almost 66 (first row) but none of the other values look like the weighted z-score i'd expect
just curious how much my self-esteem should be ruined by this hue
