I like popsicle's idea. If we do a tournament, closely involved to elimination, we will end up booting out our own characters and it will only show which division has the best player, just like the official tournament.

If we plan on doing a Team Tournament, then obviously we're looking for who has the better Team, not the better Players. Question is, how do we plan on going about that?

Maybe have each division play one song, and add the raw/combo score up for each member so you'd have a TB combined score and a TP combined score. Whichever team has the highest combined score gets the point that round. If there's a tie, do a harder tiebreaker song. Maybe 8 rounds?

If we do it this way though, we'd absolutely need to have even numbers in each division so the scores are totaled fairly.

Definitely should be a team thing rather than individual winners. Popsicle and Jake have some good ideas as far as that is concerned. And I am with Middie all the way, we should completely avoid antipa.

Also YES!!! I have been hoping for something like this.

This dodgeball idea seemed pretty abstract at first, but I think it sounds fun. One question though (more probably to follow later)

I am all for making someone buy a purchased song (it is just credits after all) but what about skill tokens? And I definitely think Forum tokens should be disallowed unless both people have the song.
How would this be handled?

While I like the dodgeball idea, I'm looking more towards a team competition like what popsicle and jake were talking about.

A round with say, three requirements, and everyone on the team tries to complete as many of the requirements as possible to get a point for each or something. The team with more points each round wins the round, and this goes on for several rounds? Seems feasible, and it isn't solely based on individual players.

How about if 50% of a Team's entrants for a particular division meet some particular goal before 50% of the other Team's entrants for that division, then the first Team wins that round for that division. And whichever team wins the most divisions that round wins the round entirely and whatever credits are associated with that round?

Since it will be team wins, how about whichever team wins divvies up the credits evenly among all who participated that round, whether successful or not and/or decides on some other team-supporting use for the won credits? (Perhaps Team raffles or a Team members-only tournament using those winnings or a contest or etc...)

If we do it that way, there can be uneven numbers from either team per any division since it's based on percentages rather than raw numbers of entrants.

Also since only requiring 50% this can offset any particular person who perhaps just can't quite make the cut on some particular thing because should the whole team be punished if at least half of them can do it?

The first team to meet the goal will be the winner. Priority will be based on qualifying score/screenshot posting time so whichever team gets that last part of their 50% on some division qualifying score posted in the right thread (probably the tournament thread itself whenever this will be/happen) before the other team will be declared to have won that particular division in that particular round. Whichever team wins the most of these will be declared to have won the round, so, for example, it is just as important to win in D6 as it is in D1, which encourages wide team participation at all skill levels.

UserName that sounds pretty good, but popsicle has a point about time. What about having one week per round and we could do something like a ratio of total team score to number of participants.

Also if we go by which team wins the most divisions we will have to handle ties somehow.

This, except total division score to number of participants (so you could have say for Round 1: TB gets 4 points for winning D1, D2, D4, and D6; TP gets 2 points for winning D3, and D5).

This would encourage the higher members of every division to cheer on the lower members of their division to boost their score so the average is higher.

Total division score is what I meant, not total team score. By ties I am referring to, for example, TB wins D1, D3, D5 and TP wins D2, D4, D6. It is a 3-3 tie that way. I thought of weighting the divisions but that would not be fair either. Well, I guess we could do 24 hour tie-breakers or something.
