Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
when tarnation first came out, i spent 3-4 days trying for that imp badge. i got 98,xxx with out restarts. and i got 101,xxx with 1 restart. so i definitely know that i CAN do it...
but, by the same token, i pretty much had rubix's guide memorized by the end of those attempts and still couldn't pull it off. i still have the guide, but i don't have it memorized. i'll try for it, sure, but it's going to take some work.
and i'll get bot arena chal4 eventually too. it's the MM and Kongai that i'm dreading. tarnation too, really.

Lvl 1
1) charge – doubleslash – (charge if he heals) doubleslash -attack if necessary
Lvl 2, max HP 90
2) attack
3) attack
4) attack, heal twice with one left
5) attack, herb if under 40 HP
6) boost, doublestrike, attack to finish off, repeat, herb if hp under 30
Lvl 3, max HP 100
7) boost, doublestrike, attack if necessary. boost – attack the second, then just
attack. herb if hp below 30. use heal with 1 left and less than 75 HP until out.
8) attack and repeat, herb if under 50. be at 60+ HP at the end.
9) attack and repeat to kill one before healing. if it survives 2 hits, herb if
under 20 HP before 3rd. with just 1, keep healed. must be above 75 HP at end.
10) if below 50 HP on first turn, use potion. if not, use doublestrike. maintain
40+ HP, use last doublestrike than attack until last is dead.
Lvl 4, max HP 115
11) attack twice
12) attack twice to kill one, then heal twice (once if over 95 HP after first
heal). attack twice.
13) attack twice to kill one, then repeat. herb if under 50 HP. use remaining heals
with 1 skull left.
14) attack, herb if under 65 hp
15) doublestrike, then attack. heal before finishing off last, need 90+ HP for next
round, 100 for worst case.
16) doublestrike twice. heal if below 25 hp.
Lvl 5, max HP 130
17) attack twice, heal, attack.
18) attack focusing on 1, herb if under 50 HP. use all heals when one left. herb if
under 80 hp. must be over 110 HP for next round.
19) double strike, potion. attack weaker one. herb if under 70, boost slash.
potion. attack, herb if under 80, attack. note depending on luck, this may get you
killed. if you would prefer to be safer, start this level with a potion.

24) doublestrike, attack, use remaining heals. herb if necessary. should be above

25) potion, doublestrike, potion (with luck you’ll survive that, I had 1 HP my
first try after the doublestrike), boost attack, attack, herb up, should have 100+
HP for next battle note this strategy may get you killed if they do higher than
average damage. The only truly safe way would be to use potions until one of them
misses, then doublestrike and follow from there.
26) boost doublestrike, boost slash, attack and herb if under 40. hopefully you
dont run out of herbs. if out of herbs, nectar, heal to 100, continue, repeat as
necessary. note I assume you are out of herbs at this point, if not you should
probably use them later when nectar is mentioned before using a nectar. The game
gives you no more herbs from here on out.
Lvl 7, max HP 160

Dude! You just completed the Ultimate Monster Slayer achievement in Max Mesiria
Chp2 RPG and won the Ultimate Monster Slayer badge and 60 points
note on bonus apparently it is randomized from a series of possibilities. the ones
that I encountered were: bottom, bottom left, bottom right, top left, top right,
top.
top, top left, bottom left, bottom, top right, bottom right
bottom left, top right, top, bottom, bottom right, top left
i've got both of those saved in a text file.RIPComment

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
No MM guide will work 100% of the time. Sometimes bad luck will own you, either way. Like, the impact of a bad run is quite substantial. If you expect, on average, to kill an enemy in two hits, but you happen to deal subaverage damage both times, that means you're not only going to receive another attack from that enemy, but you must also heal to account for the damage done AND the damage that will be performed AGAIN after healing by the enemy you didn't kill. In other words, bad luck can really, really suck when it comes to item conservation. At the end of it all, you may just not have enough items to win. On some levels, bad luck can kill you even if you make your strategy as safe as you can possibly make it.
I guess what I am saying is that yes, you *do* need luck to be on your side to beat Battle Mode. However, my point is that it shouldn't take too many tries for this to happen, given an effective strategy.Last edited by MrRubix; 01-15-2009, 09:08 AM.Comment

Am I the only one that absolutely hates Flash RPGs? Every single one I play has a terrible plot, terrible controls, and is just pure repetition.Comment

Re: The Kongregate Brag Thread!
mardek 1/2 are probably the best flash RPG games. imo. i'm curious how 3 will stack up... and just how insanely long it will be. mardek 1 is not long. mardek 2 is longer than my cock, but at least it is still somewhat interesting and entertaining.
it's not like the FF games aren't insanely long and repetitive either. most RPGs are repetitive. sonny is hard to really classify as an RPG, as there are no quests, no puzzles to figure out or solve, no "what the hell am i supposed to do now" moments. it's all very straightforward and 100% linear... it's a pure fighting RPG, which to me isn't an RPG. yes it has EXP and leveling systems with point distribution and skills to level, but it lacks the fun qualities of RPGs. you have to think of it as a fighting game.
max mesiria 1/2 are also pretty fun RPGs. minus battle mode.RIPComment
