SGX Widget Live
If you don’t know who SGX is by now, you probably have been sleeping somewhere in a closet for the past 5 years. Besides being an incredibly talented musician, he was one of the first to allow the use of his music on FFR along with ForGreatJustice, Antinomie, Chuk & Gek and a handful of others back in 2002. As a matter of fact, you should take a listen to the menu music in FFR sometime. You might find something you recognize.
So as you have guessed, we have built up quite a collection of SGX levels over the past 5 years. You can find them all in one nice neat little package right here:
or here:
Make sure you write him a little note thanking him for the years of enjoyment.
Cheers,

A little Song of the Week catchup
Public Songs of the Week:
Mute City Remix is a mix of the Mute City levels of the game F-Zero. I’ve always been a big fan of the futuristic racing game, so I’m glad to see that we now have a song in game from it, courtesy of our very own KgZ. The stepfile is a rated a 10, Very Challenging, for it’s 24th bursts at 170bpm (255bpm 16ths, for those keeping track). The stepfile is a collab between SulferDragon and Brilliant Dyanmite Neon. So, basically, a song by an awesome artist and a stepfile by 2 rising young stepfilers… you can’t lose. But, well, there is 1 small catch. It’s a secret song, so you need 45,000 credits to play it. Believe me, it IS worth it!
If for some reason you don’t have 45k credits, don’t feel too bad! We still have a song for you from Friday. Mocha Ocean is a cute little tune by Yamajet. The song is short and sweet, coming it at 79 seconds long. Stepfile is by MeaCulpa and is rated a 4, Easy. You can find it on page 1 of Misc.
Finally, Sunday’s SotW is bbblow by Onoken. It’s a really snazzy Tribal Euro piece stepped by Rebirth0. I don’t really have much else to say about it, so I’ll use this space as filler to discuss the lint in my belly button. Check out Onoken’s site as well. You can find bbblow on page 1 of Dance2, as it is rated a mid-8, Very Difficult.
There are also 2 subscriber songs in Funk for the next 3 weeks. One was added Saturday, one this morning. Neither are that hard.
More fun to come,

New Widget! Melodic sounds of Daniel Strider!
Hey guys. Been a few days since a new news post. We’d like to inform you of our newest myspace embedded player for Daniel Strider. Daniel’s comments for all of you: “Well, I’ve been playing music about 5 years, but more seriously for the past 3. I taught myself to sing and [to play] guitar. Now I’m working on piano and drums. I record everything myself because I find it hard to rely on other musicians. I think the thing that inspires me most are certain people I’ve met while trying to find myself in the time I’ve been playing.”
Again, big thanks to Daniel for letting us use his works. Currently, the levels are only available on his myspace, although we will be releasing them on FFR over the next few weeks. If you like what you hear, you can download both tracks for free off of his myspace.
Special classical song release – Tambourin Chinois
I think I haven’t written up a news post for a long time. Yes, special release today because Tass felt like doing it.
This song was composed by Fritz Kreisler (1875 – 1962) around 1910. Fritz was a great violinist as well as a composer and author. Ingame music is by me using the computer MIDI format. It is a short version and it has constant BPM (160 BPM) with many 24ths, 32nds, and jumps. It’s kind of a tricky song, we rate it low 5/6 (Very Challenging), despite being less than 70 seconds long.
Have fun with a violin piece.
Where Did My Forumz Go??!!??1?
If you guys head over to the forums… you’ll notice that they look a wee bit different. We’ve done a bit of work to re-model them so they’re more efficient. We combined a bunch of forums together and removed a few others. So check it out, let us know how you think it looks and any further suggestions we could make. Overall, it should allow everyone to navigate the forums much faster.
Enjoy,

Secrets & Lies are Like Infinite Blue Glass
I have no idea what that means, but I don’t really care. A bit late, but the most recently released skill token is Like Glass by DJ Karbon, of World of Dreams fame. It’s definitely a unique sounding song, classified as Breakbeats. The stepfile is by Ben Speirs. To unlock this song that sounds like glass, pass Seattle’s Finest (Hip-Hop) with 50 or less goods, 40 or less averages, 40 or less misses, and 60 or less boos.
Yesterday’s public SotW is Secrets & Lies by Rushjet1. Rushjet is known for making video game remixes as well as original scores that are 8-bit sounding. Secrets & Lies reminds me of Castlevania, but is an original piece, and as it is not from a VG, it is in Dance2 instead of Arcade. Also I guess a strong case could be made for it being in Misc. Oh well. This file marks the first for highly regarded simfile author DigitalS3r4ph, aka Tsuka. Hopefully we’ll see more work from him in the future. The file is a 9/12 for its 150bpm 16ths with jumps.
There is also a new subscriber SotW in funk if you haven’t seen it yet.
Finally, a personal thank you to Veritas’s Jamie and Will for the wonderful little thank you package they sent me containing chocolates, a few Veritas stickers, and the Veritas EP. Once again, check out their level 5 Black Skulls in Rock as well as checking out their myspace and website.

Need to Raise Your Rank?
One of the more recently added but unpublished features of SpinItUP!2 multiplayer is the addition of SIU Multiplayer levels. These work almost identical to the FFR multiplayer levels. The only difference is that you have a greater reward and satisfaction after beating 3 other players at the same time.
We have also added a realtime chat window that enables you to talk pre and post game but not during the game in order to prevent certain issues (this is a feature). As we did with the previous news story, if you have any direct suggestions for SIU, let us hear them! We have many new features that we are working on but new suggestions are always welcome. Don’t forget to thank Xelius for all his hard work.
Go ahead and check out the newest version.. If you can attain a level 10 or higher, I will send you a PM cookie.
