Hey, I'd like to start a small initiative to create an actual tool for this on the new services platform. This seems like a very stand-alone tool, so would be fun to make an official page / service.

That would definitely make this more convenient for users. At the moment it's pretty out of the way, that is if players even know to look for a noteskin collection at all. Then you have to click through like 5 things just to even get the file to put into the game.

Actually speaking of, could the game just like...have a folder where you could put txt files with JSON in them so you could freely select noteskins in the engine that way? Always found it kinda janky to have to open a file with a mile long gibberish and pasting it into a little bar in the engine, with only space for one skin.

There isn't really a template since it's pretty barebones.

Just make an image and make sure it has a transparent background, and whatever you want to use for a noteskin are evenly spaced apart from one another.

Everything else is done in the in-game editor or website editor that Velo linked above.

There were some errors in the JSON strings of my 2 custom noteskins that cause them to not be imported into the game. They are now fixed, and their JSON strings are updated in their respective pastebins.

+1 this. All the json info is in the pastebin link. It's a multi-link to all the individual pastebin posts with their individual json info.

Recommend using something other than Pastebin.

Pastebin is deleting all pastebin links that contain more than a certain amount of characters on a single line. Because the line opening with "data" which contains the image info for the JSON is all on a single line, Pastebin automatically deletes the link after processing it.

This has now happened with every pastebin link in this thread as well.

They don't delete the link right away if you're a Pastebin member (like yourself,) but they do put a mod tag on it indefinitely so us people using guest accounts actually can't see your paste. We get a 403 Forbidden error, citing that it's being reviewed by staff. [[Error, this is a private paste or is pending moderation. If this paste belongs to you, please login to Pastebin to view it.]]

I did have a problem with my pastes once because they deleted all of them. I got them back and it was fine since. The error is quite annoying for guest users though, do you know an alternative? I saw your earlier paste and it was from ControlC, will that be fine?
