fading means you passed out since you either A) starved from no cured meat or B) dehydrated from no water

if you "fade to grey" then you get nothing from that journey. stopping at outposts that you've taken over will replenish your water and have a few cured meats for you

Look for P's on the map and chart a course through them, dont go far without a 3x upgraded fist or 2x upgraded other weapon, stock more meat than anything else, and fists alone can get you through the game, just grind a tad for the 12 dmg fast attacks of roflly goodness.

I mean the I for the iron mine is faded to grey. I visited it, cleared it, and died. When I went back out the I was there but instead of being black it was grey so I couldn't visit it anymore. How do I get iron if I can't visit the mine

you don't visit the mine yourself, you should have iron miners unlocked on the second tab who will get iron for you

hm, that's kind of weird. maybe since you died after you had the iron it didn't count it, since if you die you don't get to have anything that you got that run. *shrug* look for another mine i guess? idk
