Middie isn't being talked about here. Middie's position in this situation is. Drama that is being stirred up because of this has nothing to do with Middie's argument, it's simply a crutch for people that disagree with him being someone to assist the event helpers to use in an argument. The point is entirely irrelevant.

EDIT: as far as a successful tournament/what the community wants, the 6th official was considerably more successful than the 7th one -- all promised prizes were given out promptly, everything was done on time and there was considerably less complaining involved, yet that good tournament is being tied with this previously not-so-good one as the tournaments needing to be improved, when that simply isn't the case when there's good management. It was said by many that the last tournament was poorly run, and that there was considerably less hype for it.
