Lol, Arb, everyone likes being pessimistic because if they succeed it will will "out of nowhere" and if they fail they can just say "they knew this would happen". But still... the biggest scare for a ton of people is definitely that D6/D5 borderline placement. It's the difference between a tournament one can hope to compete in one last time, and a tournament that is officially over for them until they learn to be God-tier (or at least pretty close).

Well I still don't really think it's quite the right attitude, if you think you're gonna lose then most likely you're going to lose. Then again I'm not a low D6'er yet but still, miracles can happen.
