Re: FFR Hacked again... Yes again... 2019
Yeah this is pretty much the issue. I mean, he contacted me privately, I gave him very clear and truthful answers about the issues at hand, and he decided to cherry pick some portions of the messages as "excuses" we were giving to just not fix things he was sure were trivial to fix.
There's ways to handle this kind of thing. And I think one thing people should think about when leveling criticism or offering random solutions to the problem, is that a bunch of us have been here for a very long time. I was here when Synth was actually active. I've been in skype calls with him. I've been here through what, four now? instances of him coming back, promising to be active and then vanishing again?
There's nothing you're going to suggest to "fix the site" that hasn't come up in our staff discussions at least a half dozen times, both from the internal "What can we do on the backend" front and the external "Could we actually just hijack the website" front.
And not just random suggestions that we could do stuff like that, serious discussions involving conversations with lawyers, analysis of potential server costs in multiple countries, methods of addressing music rights issues. This is not something we're just NOT thinking about.Comment

Just in case this needs to be said, that shit's just auto-grabed from a list of emails and passes and mass spammed out, just change your pass and ignore it. They won't reply if you send them anything. You'd think this would be obvious but they make tons of money.Last edited by MrPoptart; 07-22-2019, 07:37 PM.Originally posted by TheSaxRunner05My WWE FC wasn't mashing, I was actually playing a much harder version of the chart in my head that had 1600 more notes. I'm not even going to read this thread, but just to point out a few things:
Mandatory password changes, are, on top of technical limitations, annoying. My password was not compromised in either breach nor would it be at significant risk if it was (it's dictionary resistant), so I haven't changed my password.
Personally identifiable information is usually given up freely here, with the exception of age.
Okay that is all bye.Originally posted by [11:38 PM] Hakulyteonly person who can legit tilt me is like YoshLOriginally posted by スンファンさん右に3回回らない限り間違います。Comment

Re: FFR Hacked again... Yes again... 2019
also mandatory password resets cause some people who don't have access to the email they signed up with to lose access to their account entirely
This happened to me on my anime list, and I'm unable to get my account back. the thing is I literally couldn't give less of a shit if someone knew my password to MY ANIME LIST, but their complete overreaction to the situation caused me to lose access to my account permanently. They won't let me recover itFollow my dog on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Riles_puppyComment

Re: FFR Hacked again... Yes again... 2019
this thread seems like it wants this article or one like it now
As ransomware attacks crippled businesses and law enforcement agencies, two U.S. data recovery firms claimed to offer an ethical way out. Instead, they typically paid the ransom and charged victims extra.
e: to be clear that mass email reads pretty fake, and almost is shameful next to some of the ransomers mentioned hereLast edited by inDheart; 07-22-2019, 09:04 PM.Comment
