Torus Trooper - FFR fad game of the week - Flash Flash Revolution
The basic gist of it is that you're running under a clock. You have infinite lives, but die and you get a 15 second penalty.
You get time bonuses for destroying a certain quota of enemies, or getting a certain quota of points.
Charged shots slow you down, which means fewer enemies destroyed, but you get more points per enemy because they destroy all the bullets too (and multiply your score for each enemy destroyed beyond the first.)
So, in addition to trying to not die and blow everything up while going at an insane speed, you have to decide when it's worth your time to do charged shots (if you think you can kill enough with the shot to get point bonuses) and when you would be better off keeping your speed up.
Z is regular shot (hold it down), hold X and release for charged shots. The farther forward you are, the faster you move.
Extreme is the mode to play; I'm fairly sure this is how the game was meant to be played. (Normal is slow, Hard is faster, Extreme is super-fast.) Play on normal until you understand how it works, then go nuts on Extreme. I'll go ahead and set the score to beat for Extreme: 1,498,930 with 2205 kills. It was an amazing run - got all the way to level 5.
I was playing normal, and I had a score of 1,430,961 and was on level 7. I had over 100 seconds left but then chardish im'd me and when I was able to get the screen back, I was dead.
Awesome game, with great music, incredible 3d effects, full screen. I really liked it. It's really our kind of game. Those who did well with the last fad game are well trained for this one because dodging bullets about as fast as those balls came at you are a good part of it.
4,954,161 Extreme score baby. It was my first extreme run and I made it to level 13 with over 6000 kills. I am amazing at this game. I love when it starts going warp speed and everything becomes a blur of colour around your ship. THis is a beautiful game. SS for proof.
I'll also try to get an ss going warp to show how awesome this game is.
z/Ctrl = fire guns
x/Alt = Charge beam (slows you down, but useful against bosses)
Right/Left Arrows = Dodge through the tunnels
Up/Down arrows = Raise/Lower Cameral angle - Speed up, slow down
There is no limit to ammunition
Start the game with 2 minutes.
Kill 99-249(depending on level) enemies and the mini boss comes (1 enemy dropping many bombs)
Kill this boss and you gain +30 seconds
Kill 99-249(depending on level) more enemies and the boss comes (1-3 enemies dropping many bombs)
Kill this boss and you gain +45 seconds
You rack up points by covering ground and killing enemies.
When point quota (small numbers beneath total score) is reached +15 seconds.
When you lose a life by getting hit by a bomb, -15 seconds.
WTF, there was some bug.. I was doing a run on extreme, got to level 4.. beat it, then it took me back to level 3, beat it to go back to level 4, beat that, and thennn it took me to level 5.. .weird
