Apparently a Texas Senator has been going for about 9-ish hours now. She's trying to stop a bill from putting heavy restrictions on abortion. The filibuster looks like it's not doing well since they imposed strikes on her, but I hope she'll get though.

Texas' lieutenant governor has suspended a filibuster against wide-ranging abortion restrictions, but Democrats moved quickly to appeal the decision.

A filibuster can be used to kill a bill on the floor of the Senate. Senators just announce that they are filibustering and can talk as long as they want as there is no limit on speaking time in the Senate, unlike the House. Some Senators will even call in and say that they are filibustering a bill without actually talking.
Filibusters can be stopped by a movement of cloture. Clotures must receive 3/5, or 60 with no vacancy, votes to be passed.
