maybe im a one of a kind one hander that uses four fingers instead of three? i have extremely small hands so four fingers allows me to play faster and do better overall. but are there any one handers that use four fingers besides me?

Wow that just feels weird. Do you use your thumb or pinky?
For me its LEFT ARROW=left middle
DOWN ARROW= left index
UP ARROW= right middle
RIGHT ARROW=right ring I havent really seen too many people use this coombination

litewaitholiday: That's still considered 4 finger, you can substitute any fingers you want, it doesn't change the guidelines much (if any).

well, i wasn't being specific enough i guess. i use my right index for the left, my middle finger for the top and the bottom, and my ring finger for the right, but i bring my pinky over all the time to substitute for the right arrow when my ring fingers being occupied by the down arrow. its kinda confusing but my pinky finger is used a ton during every song i play. sometimes, i might even bring in my thumb for the left arrow if theres some really strange pattern that requires me to.

well i will always have troubles with jacks, but the patterns that are most troubling for me would have to be ladders with TONS of jumps in them or (cant remember the numbers associated with the arrows) the right and down arrow when there trills for some reason are the hardest for me.

edit: i meant staircases not ladders. haha

well korny's technically playing 4 finger then...if you can substitute any 4 fingers, there's nothing saying they can't be on one hand

He still seems to have very close to...if not exactly...the same strengths and weaknesses as any 4 finger player would, I don't really get how he could have any trouble with jumps in "staircases" (he prolly meant streams in general) but if you have a finger on each key...how's there a problem?

So maybe you could do the exact same thing you did for 3 finger, and split it up into 2 divisions: 4 fingers, one hand, and 4 fingers, two hands.

ive heard of alot of people who play the style you do, two of my friends were confused on how they should play 2 handed, and they decided to the play the way that you do. your style isn't as uncommon as you might think

I'm keeping with that...I finally got over the mentality of having two seperate playfields, so no matter what I do, my fingers won't touch, and I can combo streams like there's no tomorrow...it's just a pain with FFR...using 2468 instead of 1235

lol, it's actually quite fun.

You might want to add it come to think of it...because it has a MASSIVE advantage when it comes to jackhammers (you can split the work between the two playfields, and alternate on a single key, it feels exactly like trilling but on a jackhammer...I guess it's very much like the "single arrow march" in DDR)
