Another style that I'm not sure how many people use would be switching styles in the middle of a song. Going from 'index' to four finger on the runs, and then back to index for example. Still, the switching can sometimes mess up your fingers on the placement of the arrows, but after you've tried it a bit, it's easier to remember where your fingers go.

Yes, well, that is just changing the style you are using. The rules of the style apply to whichever you are using at that time.

I'm one of the few who uses "one handed", and it has become cumbersome on songs harder than "difficult", so i have tried configuring my keyboard so i can do "spread" on "vbnm". unfortunately, my computer always freezes right before i can configure it. does anyone know of a program that I can use to configure my keyboard?

Which game are you talking about. FFR, R2 or SM?

FFR, so that would make me configure my keyboard manually with a windows XP built in function, but like I said, my computer freezes. I can also do SM, but im much more used to FFR.

EDIT: acctualy, I think ill do 2 finger per hand, that way I wont have to deal with this stupid button reconfiguration.

Play SM on C300 and they should feel exactly the same.

Try using a 3rd party program for changing the keys. I remember Kilga mentioning one a while back.

My advice is this-
Left Index-Down
Left Middle-Left
Right Index-8 key on the number pad
Right Middle-6 key on the number pad
I think that's really comfortable. Try it. You might like it. It really helps if you have big hands like me lol.

Ok, i read through this whole thing and no one mentioned this style. Its 2 hands, left hand middle finger left arrow, right hand middle finger right arrow. Thats how i play because my middle fingers are stronger. What do i call this, is it considered index?

Yes and No. Your index finger is usually faster than your middle fingers. Mine are atleast and I still suck horribly at jacks -.-. I would call the "The Bird" lol.

If it was possible i would try to play like this:

Left arrow be binded to q,w,e,a,s,d,z,x,c
down arrow be binded to t,y,u,g,h,j,b,n,m
up arrow to insert, home, page up, delete, end, page down, and the arrow keys
right arrow to the number pad.

Then beat your keyboard with your palms accordingly.
It's called EMCCKYstyle.

It's just index with weaker fingers. Call it whatever you want the same guidelines apply.
