      My turn!

Five hundred begins it, five hundred ends it,
      Five in the middle is seen;
First of all figures, the first of all letters,
      Take up their stations between.
Join all together, and then you will bring
Before you the name of an eminent king.

BTW, I don't know if anyone here uses Google to find answers to riddles, and if you do I hope Pac-Man comes to your house and eats you. It's wrong. Just use your goddamn brain!

      David?
D would be 500 in roman numerals, so D D
      and 5 is V in roman numerals, so D V D.
first of all figures, 1, first of all letters, A. So: DAV1D
      which would be, David.

Bad answer, but in roman numerals you subtract if the character is before the greater symbol.
        too easy.
I don't understand your long riddle. pics please?

I guess i'll add a few more riddles for you guys:

You and a group of your friends are in the library. One friend says there is a $100 dollar bill hidden between pages 75 and 76 of a book in the library. But you decide not to go and look for it. Why?

You throw away the outside and cook the inside. Then you eat the outside and throw away the inside. What are you eating?

Name one eight letter word that has kst in the middle, in the beginning, and at the end.
                Reverse for life!

page 75 and 76 are the front and back of a single page. He's lying.

                  corn on the cob.

                  Thinking about last one.

                    Re: The Riddle Thread

I knew those first two already, but dang.. The last one is confusing. By one eight letter word.. A single word containing all of that, or one each? It may be a riddle poorly worded to confuse people and create a "wtf?" reaction.

Three identical equalateral triangles are inscribed with circles. Which case provides the circles with the largest total area? 1) An incircle ant two smaller circles, 2) Three identical circles of the largest size possible, 3) One big circle and two smaller ones.

That eight letter riddle... there aren't any words that begin with "kst", so, uh, either the riddle isn't supposed to be taken literaly or it was worded badly...

A not-aaaas-easy riddle: One of the three switches on the ground floor turns on the lamp in the attic. Your job is to find out which of the three switches activates the lamp, but you are allowed only one trip to the attic to check on the light. Can you figure out how to tell which light switch works?

                        #2, three equal circles.

                        For the attic-- Not sure.

                          Easy.
Turn switch one on, leave it on for awhile.
                          turn it off.
                          Turn switch two on.

If the bulb is on, switch two.
                          If its off, feel it.
If the bulb is hot, it's switch one.
                          Else, switch three.

I actually think the one with the biggest circle and two really small circles has the biggest area, as it is pi r squared... but hey.

Hopefully this one will be at least a bit harder...

There are exctly 9! different nine-digit numbers in which all the digits from 1 to 9 appear. Of those 362,880 numbers, can you work out how many will be prime? (show reasoning)

Ehm.. I got the attic one, and apparently was wrong on the circle one - but this one confuses me. My math teachers have neglected to teach me about ! for three years now. Could somebody give me a quick overview, if it's not too complicated?
