Re: The Riddle Thread
a welfare check form the government?ok that riddle above is worded weirdly, i can't even understand it lol
Here's a simpler one but I didn't figure it out when it was told to me:
Greater than god, more evil than the devil, is needed by the poor, and is not by the rich - If you eat it, you will die
What is it?Originally posted by ToshXI spent 10 days in a hospital. The police arrested me and sent me there. Yes, it was a mental hospital :/ Four of them pointed their guns at me, waking me up at noon on Saturday.
Oh yeah, I met some really interesting people there. One of them said that he saw demons and that he wanted to kill me ^_____^Comment

Re: The Riddle Thread
Someone should be able to solve it. It only took me a few minutes.
It's quite clever. Just requires a bit of 'outside the box' thinking to find a quick way to solve it.

Re: The Riddle Thread
i feel like a mathematics geek for finding out that sequence, Reach.
should i answer it or let the rest ponder on it?
EDIT: nvm, i don't think i got it. i got something very similar so i might have a negative sign somewhere where it's not necessaryLast edited by xjohnieboyx; 01-29-2007, 02:54 PM.Comment

Expanding on Guido's
point, line, Area, Volume
And for 6)
Could the next term be 490?Originally posted by Tokzicis the repetition of the last line a metaphorical comparison of the dependance of society on technology today versus the more natural lifestyle of the late nineteenth century

Re: The Riddle Thread
my next term guess will be -4697.
if it's right, i'll tell y'all how i got it. pretty sure it's right
OK I can't wait i'm going to sleep i have classes tomorrow early in the morning.
Basically, it's simple when you have a calculator.
-(n!)+(n^3)
for example, -(6!)+(6^3) = -720+216 = -504.Last edited by xjohnieboyx; 01-29-2007, 03:28 PM.Comment

Re: The Riddle Thread
Explanation:
For 7, 2pi^2r^3 is the 3d volume of a three-sphere.
.5pi^2r^4 is the 4d volume of a three-sphere.
I think.
For the more punishment, we just redid this exact problem in Calc the other day. Expanding pi/4.Originally posted by Tokzicis the repetition of the last line a metaphorical comparison of the dependance of society on technology today versus the more natural lifestyle of the late nineteenth century
