This was just a breaking news story that came out yesterday. Seems like Google thinks it's huge news.

How many "missing links" have been found already?
I was under the impression that this is at least the 5th or 6th time.

There are many "Missing Links" because people not in the scientific community don't understand what these mean and demand for the phases between the phases of the missing links and so on and so forth.

To be honest there really weren't any missing links at all. But this should help shut some people up (maybe).

I mainly wrote this because Google actually changed their logo of the day.

One, Earth has been around much longer than billions of years, there was an article on yahoo that confirmed the earths existence to be over trillions of years old. The research has recently just gotten a lead on the actual length of time, though, many believe that Earth's existence will never be determined, but it's well over trillions of years. As for the universe, I can honestly say that will NEVER be determined.

I'm not exactly sure what the hell you're talking about. Earth is only 4.5 billion years old. There is no trillion.

Scientists already had a pretty good estimate for the age of the universe: 13.73 billion years ± 120 million.

I don't think you've been keeping up with the research...

They had to examine it. Scientific discoveries are often not made on the spot. All they did 25 years ago was dig up the bones. Then people analyzed them and things like that. So yesterday, they finished the analysis and showed their results.

I agree though. This should just make the argument for evolution even stronger, though it didn't need to be stronger. There's nothing you can do to appease diehard Christians.

I'm neutral on the creation vs. evolution thing, but I know science will never find all the answers. Christianity can't give you all the answers either.

Both the Bible and fossils are very old, and things have been lost over time... so even though some people are acting like it's the discovery of the century, it's still kind of just a "meh" thing to me.
