Re: Drycleaners lost your pants? Replace them with a $67 million lawsuit!
I don't remember if it's in that exact article, but when I actually saw the story on the CBS Early Show, they mentioned he was actually citing a state law intended to protect customers when he cried "Fraud" in regards to their "Satisfaction Guaranteed" sign in the store. So he technically has a case. Sort of. There's no way he will receive judgment in the amount he's claiming, but because of this law he's exploiting, he might get away with this.
Although legal analysts are just calling it annoying.

A judge this willing to exploit the legal system should be disbarred. No ****ing way I want this guy judging any case I get myself into if he doesn't even have any ethics.
I hope he gets laughed out of court.
What really bothers me is the $15,000 for 10 years of car rentals... I might as well sue the guy who owns the closed laundromat down the street because I ultimately decided to live at this house because of the convenience of him being close to me without considering the obvious risks of me one day not liking his service or him closing down.

No, they were his pants. He just denies it.
The receipts match up and the owner even recognizes the exact style of belt loop because it was very unique.
They're his pants. He has no case if they give them to him, so he refused.
Holy ****ing hell there needs to be an actual law against that kind of hypocritical bull**** other than "common sense" because that never seems to work.

Because McDonald's was liable. They have a pot of coffee that they over heat to get the aroma to permeate the store so people will be more inclined to buy it. It was around 50-100 degrees higher than it should have been, and the employees had been instructed NOT to serve out of that pot as it was a hazard. Lo and behold, it was the only pot they had left when they served her, and when the coffee touched her lip, it was hot enough to cause her to drop it. She had been a loyal customer before, so the temperature change was very unexpected. They were serving coffee, that if ingested, would scaled and burn your insides. Luckily, your mouth is there to tell you if something is too hot/too cold/too sexy, so the only thing that was her fault was dropping the coffee.
Actually that information was wrong. The coffee was heated around 180-200 degrees because the coffee drinkers wanted the coffee to stay hotter longer, and they made a claim that it enchances the taste. When she was pulling out of the drive through, she set the coffee in between her legs and started to drive. Somehow the coffee spilled and scolded her body. She was sitting in it for about 90 seconds (She had to park and get out of the car, etc). The burns damaged about 75% of her skin I think it was.
We did this case study in my law class. It was comparative negligence by the woman and the employees, but because the employees over heated it so damn much they lost the case and now have to put HOT in huge ass letters on every coffee cup.

Instead of taking her out to a movie and buying her popcorn, bend her over the arm of a couch. It's very economical. Just make sure you are using the proper protection, because then it can become VERY, VERY GOD DAMN UNECONOMICAL if she pops a baby 9 months down the road.
Re: Drycleaners lost your pants? Replace them with a $67 million lawsuit!
Hahaha! I work at a dry cleaners and something like this just happened to us, only it wasn't quite THIS severe. When a lady came to pick up her clothes she claimed that one of the shirts in her order wasn't hers. She said hers was WHITE but the one on the hanger was slightly off white. Since we do all the work on the premisis and we keep the orders together while we clean them we knew she was lying. We told her that this was her shirt. It was her size, with her order, same color, and the same designer. The owner wasn't in at the time so when the owner called her the lady requested that my boss pay her $200 for the blouse that we "lost". My boss told her no and now she's in the middle of a lawsuit. The lady wants her to pay over $1000 because she wouldn't take the stupid blouse that is hers anyway.

She got out of the car and rolled around in it.
Pssh, Idk. It was a large percentage of her body around 60-75%
