I like moogy's idea.

If a teacher actually demanded that of us, I'd either not do it and say I did... or drop that class. Its complete bs.

But, things to do: Play poker, hang with the guys, enjoy a 48 hour sex fest, party like its 1999, go to the gym, run, sleep (ALOT), masturbation is always nice... but personally, I need stroke material (which would violate the project).

Write cursive backwards(thin long letters) and write anything that comes to mind.
That's what I do, it makes the time go by very fast.

Drawing, I should get back into drawing...fill up that art journal of mine.

I can't write in cursive anyways forwards...let alone backwards.

All I can think to say is good luck. That is going to be one tough assignment. The longest i've ever gone was about 2, maby 3 days, and that was hell.

Just don't call between 10am-4pm. Besides, I am super boring on the phone...like...sometimes, I just tape my phone to a sack of potatos and take a shower, and when I am finished I pick up the phone and saw something like, "oh! The pot-roast! I forgot about the pot-roast!" and then I hang up.

So yeah...a few more hours of internet, then cold-turkey....literally, I am going to make myself a sandwich.

I rekon he'll be able to make it. I made it 40 hours without talking 3 times. I know thats not real long, but for me to not talk for that long, is an absolute mirical! Even when im depressed i talk alot...if you count talking to myself...
I rekon it'll be really good, he'll come out of it knowing what its like to live in a 3rd world, except he'll have food and clean water and all that stuff.

I've been off of Mass Media for about 3 years now. It's not hard. I don't count the Internet because I'm not one of those people who goes to NYTimes during lunch breaks to see what happened in the last 15 minutes since I last went there.

All of my news comes to me from this site and from my parents who never stop watching it. I haven't watched a cable television show of any kind in 3 years.

I wouldn't make it. All I do is a) read fiction, science fiction, fantasy, etc., b) read all of those on the Intarwebs, c) listen to music, or d) sleep. I sleep a lot anyway, but I need storytime to get there.

I don't see why fiction isn't allowed. It's not a mass media thing, really. It's more like sitting around a campfire and listening to someone with a really good imagination.

I'm with whorli, fiction isn't really a form of mass media. I could survive if i had books for sure, i can read the same book over and over and over and still not get tired of it. I've read the 6th Harry Potter book 4+ times already.

Without books, then i'd just lie, plain and simple. And i bet you most people would. Even people who don't watch TV or go on the internet still read magazines, newspapers, or books. Of course, they'd probably have an easier time doing an assignment like this.

Let's see, I could stay away from the internet (I do it often at camps and vacations and I don't even miss it), I probably would have a lot of trouble trying to stay away from the tv/video games unless you could read books, (because that is my usual substitute) and since you can't read books I would have a hard time. I wouldn't mind giving up music. I'd most likely sleep as much as possible, actually DO my homework, and school seperates me from all media so I can't get tempted. So i'd do my homework straight when I get home from school, then sleep for as long as I could, or I would think about my favorite books and try to remember absolutely everything that happened. Not word for word but just like a movie going on in my head. That would suck up tons of time. I think I could do it. In fact I'll try my hardest to do it, for fun. Yes this sounds like fun for me, because it's an experiment and experiments are fun in my opinion.
