Yeah I can't upload anything either. Darn.

Hey, I wonder if there will be a Mega app for Android coming in the near future?

Signed up, got my confirmation, and I'm in. Have nothing to upload so haven't tried it yet to see if it works since people last posted about it.

EDIT: Yeah, it doesn't work yet. Probably will tomorrow when the site was supposed to launch.

I believe that's false. There was a loophole regarding his statement in court, mainly the vagueness of "business as is alleged." He's either a genius liar or luckily found the right words. I talked about it in the first article in the other thread.

The U.S. says Kim DotCom swore under oath he would not attempt to resurrect MegaUpload or a similar file sharing service as an agreement to bail. It seems though Kim is taking advantage of a loophole, and because of the wording in his statement he is able to start up another file sharing service from scratch without explicitly contradicting the oath. Ira Rothken, the attorney overseeing MegaUpload’s worldwide defense says the U.S. is clutching at straws (in essence hopelessly trying to find a way to persecute Kim of breaking his oath) over Kim’s announcement.

"There is no realistic prospect or possibility of restoring the business or recommencing the business having regard to both the seizure of the requisite servers and data storage equipment and to the seizure of all funds, monies and assets held both by Megaupload and by me personally… Until the merits of the US government’s charges against me and my co-defendants, as well as the company, have been determined there is no ability, let alone financial incentive available to me, to try to continue to operate the business as is alleged."

              Here are some suggestions:
              Reload this webpage later.
Check your Internet connection. Restart any router, modem, or other network devices you may be using.
Add Google Chrome as a permitted program in your firewall's or antivirus software's settings. If it is already a permitted program, try deleting it from the list of permitted programs and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the Chrome menu > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" checkbox.
Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset.
mleh, might try again in a bit...

Odd beta. Had to refresh it a few times for it to open.

                  Re: The New Megaupload

I was able to upload files a bit ago. I guess they finished getting things sorted out.

Edit: Or not, guess it is just inconsistent. I'll wait until tomorrow morning to try again.

Apparently the username thing isn't really a username. It isn't used for anything and isn't even unique.

Did anyone else watch that mega launch live broadcast last night?

Same for me. Though it might be because the server is not accessible in our region since we're both in QC. I'm getting "Server Not Found" message.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Megaupload but I'm not too fond of the context in which Mega has been promoted. After all this affair, it's obvious licensers and content owners will be vigilant to Kim Dotcom activity (might also say law enforcement organizations but I'm not too sure as to how this situation concerns them anyway, as their permission to interact has been a conflicting debate throughout the last years). Although their policy and ways of handling user content has been revised, I'm still on the hold about the future state of the site.

I bet it's because its blowing up on the internet right now, and servers are tying to keep up. I'd say give it time.
