Uhhh, except it demonstrably IS "lie, lie, lie." lol. Almost everything Ryan said in that speech is patently false. That's what "demonstrably" means. You can go look at the actual data, look up actual quotes, look up the history -- and see, plainly, that Ryan's claims are bogus.

boring, but watched it all. when i skipped around the speech initially, i missed all the important stuff. admittedly didn't click your links either ;p. my apologies, the dude was totally full of shit. a few nuggets of truth, but definitely in the minority. i'm also fairly confident that on any of the good ideas he put forth, he would renege.

The point of this thread is that there's a lot of bullshit out there that aims to confuse and mislead people. Clinton's speech is a breath of fresh air because you can listen to it and feel confident that it's on-point, accurate, exhaustive, broad, and on top of that -- funny and interesting to listen to.

It cuts through the bullshit and delivers a simplified version of things that's really easy to take in for those who don't follow this stuff everyday -- and yet it isn't oversimplified to the point of omitting crucial details. A lot of the major points are all there.

As for my opinion, it's simple: I don't see how anyone can support Romney/Ryan unless they're either ignorant or ridiculously self-serving. When you have to base your entire campaign on a foundation that isn't in any way reflective of reality, that's a very bad sign. It's one thing to make your decisions through an opposing ideological framework, but it's quite another to just make shit up and bank on American ignorance to grant you power.

The DNC and RNC are both largely just infomercials at their cores, but it's hard to deny that Clinton's speech is fantastic even on its own merits. There's obviously a LOT more that could have been said, but that's not even the point here.
