Not really an appearance issue, but when you try and talk to people like that it is really hard to take them seriously because they normally seem unintelligent.

So that is kind of like not being "real" because it feels like they are off in some alternate reality.

So personality and who they are is also a huge factor in being attractive. Whenever I see a picture of a girl with a cross around their neck or something it doesn't even matter how good they look anymore because it is an instant turn off for me.

I think for some, it is sour grapes (making excuses and saying you don't like something when it's really just because you can't get it). For others, it's about assessing attractiveness as more than just physical looks (like Izzy said). Maybe most of the hot girls you encounter are total ditzes, so you become desensitized/turned off to it.

I'll agree with this. Hot girls are hot, I don't care about how intelligent they are. I'm shallow maybe, for being attracted to "unreal" girls? Oh well.
