I would love to give a thought back on all things said, but im getting ready to go out and eat, so i only have time for one at the moment. My example is my niece. She does not listen to you weather you reward her, or tell her no and explain what she is doing is wrong. She doesn't have the ability to comprehend based one what her grandparents ( The people who have primary physical custody) have taught her. They have given her the ideal that she can do as she pleases, and no one but herself matters. This kind of child can exist in more then one type of setting, and even come from a good stable family. cases like this, and others similar like my niece are the things that spankings work with.

I remember way back when I was a little kid when I was going to explain to my parents about why I was kicked out of a reading club in my elementary school (I even apologized, the teacher was just a bitch) and instead at home I was immediately greeted with a big spoon being whipped at my ass at least 20 times (in other words, compulsive anger). Spanking died down and then my parents realized it really wasn't helping at all. Not to mention that since I'm no longer a little kid, I can actually fight back. If you have a big son that can own your ass, you think you're going to try spanking?

The amount of likes on this video shows that a lot of people actually have that stance instead of positive reinforcement. You most likely already knew this, it certainly isn't a surprise

From personal experience, it's nice when you can approach your parents feeling safe and having them explain things to you. Not so nice is if your parents start using ageist pish posh and abuse you instead of being reasonable, not rectifying the situation in any way.

The guy did explain she did something similar before and she got off pretty easy with that. Then she does it again. Consequence is she'll have to feel how it really is to be an adult, instead of feeling entitled like she portrays with her letter to her parents.
Sure, using a gun was a dumb idea. I don't agree with the way he does this, using the gun, humiliating the child online etc. That's psychological abuse.
But I do agree with the consequences. It's basically the same as removing any other privilege (ex. a game console or some toy).

I don't know how the parent disciplines his kids aside from this video though so I can't really judge the situation. But that kid sounds like an entitled brat that needed to get a reality check.

How did the father know about the page in the first place?

Either:
1. A mutual friend ratted her out or she forgot to log out of an active session... hardly something you'd attribute to IT supersleuthing.
Or:
2. He keylogs his daughter/spies on her network traffic... huge red flag.

What exactly will you do if your child is the bully, hitting other children in school because, "Mummy and Daddy think it's OK to hit me when I'm bad, so I'll hit other people when their bad"

Or, if it gets to the point they're bullying right though school and turn out to be that person who makes others school life hell because you taught them it was acceptable to physically assault people?

How did the father know about the page in the first place?

Either:
1. A mutual friend ratted her out or she forgot to log out of an active session... hardly something you'd attribute to IT supersleuthing.
Or:
2. He keylogs his daughter/spies on her network traffic... huge red flag.

If the kid's facebook page was public, the dad could've just logged out and viewed the page, regardless if his account was blocked or not.

I do agree if it's the second case though.. yeah no

edit: One thing's for sure.. dad's pretty trigger happy, seeing as he said he was close to putting a bullet through the laptop the first time.

I forgot to add, I would definitely raise my kids with shows and games I loved as a kid, like samurai pizza cats and stuff like that. Most cartoons/games nowadays just aren't as fun as the old 80's and 90's stuff imo. :')

I'd say do whatever works...Try both sides, hell maybe your kid does need a slap in the face or just some time to be talked with...you could also slap them spontaneously in the face while talking to them, that's a combination of both(My dad actually did this to me, I think he was confused about what to do, funniest thing is I still remember).

I think parents simply want their kids to enjoy the same things that they did but sometimes it doesn't work. It's like how a father might have loved baseball as a kid, but their child might hate it with every fiber of their being.
