I never really liked the SL/SL spec for PvP
and our arena team sucks because our shaman isn't resto yet and we fight nothing but resto druids
and I'm usually top damage done in all of my raids/dungeons
all I do for PvP is CoE, immolate spam incinerate and then conflagrate
Cataclysm, really? 5% mana save is worthless
Soul Leech is bad because it rarely procs and the amount healed is low unless you happen to get a soul fire crit
I'd show it to you in video but I'm lazy and just won't
speccing afflic as soon as WotLK comes out though
It's a pve spec, 5% saved mana means ever 20 shadowbolts you get a free one. Considering you're going to be casting thousands of shadowbolts a raid it's helpful. Remember every time you life tap you lose a gcd that could be spend on casting a shadowbolt. Granted it's not an INCREDIBLE talent but it's helpful and it gets you up a tier.

In that build Soul Leech is a throwaway talent to get you to the next tier, that's why it's not maxed out.
I could spend more time defending my build but it's pointless.
Regarding the spec in question: those two points could have been put somewhere else. Well, if you at least have immolate in a rotation. Otherwise soul leech is a good filler

My build was dubbed considered completely retarded by the other Rogues in my guild until I blew them all away on the meters (despite having worse gear).
i'm not saying it's definitely good, but weird builds often work out

For some reason rogues seem to have a great disparity in talent. A new rogue to our guild in ssc/tk badge gear blew away our rogue in BT/Hyjal gear. Exact same build and everything. Cookie cutter tested builds theoretically will top dps every time but it all depends on how the rogue plays. In fights with lots of running around the rogue who moves the quickest and knows when he needs to start and cut it off will win.
It's sorta the same way on my lock, I used to move around a lot when I didn't need to and in transitions I always took a little bit too long to get back in position. Moving =/= casting shadowbolt. Once I started casting shadowbolt every second I could, moving the quickest and most efficient way I was out dpsing other locks with better gear because I could work in 8-10 shadowbolts more than they could in a boss fight.

According to EJ and my own Dr Boom tests working in immolate is actually lower dps than pure SB spam, especially if your crit is over 25% to keep up ImpSB 100%
Misery and vamptouch were both omgwrecked in wotlk, in fact spriests in general seem to be pretty sad imo.
Wotlk Misery and vamptouch
Misery - Your Shadow Word: Pain, Mind Flay and Vampiric Touch spells also increase the chance for harmful spells to hit by 3% lasting 24 sec, and increases the damage of your Mind Blast, Mind Flay and Mind Sear spells by an amount equal to 15% of your spell power.
Vampiric Touch - Causes 450 Shadow damage over 15 sec to your target and causes up to 10 party or raid members to gain 0.25% of their maximum mana per second when you deal damage from Mind Blast.
The holy changes aren't super either but at least they haven't been direct nerfs.
I'm sad for my priest because he was my favorite =(
