There have been Sony PR guys in the field saying demos in GameStop and EB Games are meant to freeze. It's coded into the console.

NForcer brings up a good point. See, as someone who doesn't watch TV, I would never consider the purchase of an HD-television. I don't even have an LCD monitor. Therefore, the whole "HD" thing for Blu-Ray and the like totally fails on me.

The problem for Sony is that I am part of about 90% of the market according to some analysts who've studied the install base for HDTVs.

You first have to get people to buy HDTVs, then of those people, you have to work even harder to convince them to get something "better" than DVDs, and finally, you have to convince them that Blu-Ray is better than HD-DVD.

Are you starting to see things my way, Chromer? Sony's entire motive with PS3 is not for gaming. It's a multimedia experience. I have a computer for that, and I don't have an HDTV for their console, nor do I have any interest whatsoever in super graphics that the average human eye can't even discern.

ps - find me someplace in this thread (other than this sentence) where I say "wii is going to win and nintendo is the greatest company ever made", then you can call me a fanboy.

I like how when I played the PS3 at gamestop it would freeze up for not only me but for every one that I watched play it mid way into the game.

You can't compare the Wii to the PS3. They are two totally different machines: one a video game console and the other basically a digital media center.

This is where you kicked yourself in the balls. You continuously compare, yet say you can't compare? Oh, and to take advantage of the PS3's best superficial features, you need an HDTV and surround sound. Y HELO THAR, PS3. I'M A MEDIA CENTER. WANT TO JOIN TEH FAMILY?

Consumers that are really serious about the PS3 have some kind of media center already. Why would you have HD otherwise? To watch 480i that looks better on a standard TV? I sure wouldn't replace my media center with a PS3.

I absolutely love how you know the PS3 will have amazing games and will eventually come out on top. Can your crystal ball tell me about my love life and my career, too?

Just a suggestion, but when you're the only person who thinks a certain way, there's a good chance that you're wrong.

That is such an incredibly terrible way of thinking. I think completely the opposite and it usually brings me to things I love very much.

An example you can relate to, pure ints in MS, or the fact that I use an MG in GunZ.

Going with "if everyone else thinks this way, it must be working" is just a horrid way to do things, in my opinion.

I don't see how you keep crying about the fact that a newer and suppoedly more powerful chip can not at least meet the 360's specifications. Surely it has enough power to do a straight port without having to lower the graphics?

At the very least it would be equal to or better then the 360's version. You can't keep using the oh they started before us rubbish. Clearly something is wrong with the ps3 graphicly too if it can not handle such graphics.

The PS3 is waning, but certainly isn't dead. Sure, games originally just for it (like Assassin's Creed) are being brought over to the 360, but there are still games to look forward to, such as White Knight (it's from Level 5, so it's BOUND to be good) and Heavenly Sword (can you say GodDESS of War?).

True, but the programmers learn how to work it better, which makes for better graphics as the console becomes older.

Hah, i like how you all are sitting there thinking you are soo superior just because you have more people on your side in this one specific thread. There are many people who would perfer the PS3 and who know it will do better in the long run. How about you all sit ther eand kindly take peoples opinions for what they are... OPINIONS. You are all so concerned with proving yourselves right that you are taking things past the point of conversation and into a rant. The PS3 wont go away, and it will take a while to grow its popularity but it will grow. Whos to say how well it will do, all there is to say that its not doing well now.

Oh hey. It's not fair to compare PS3's one-month-old graphics to 360's 13-month old graphics (meaning an older chip without HD, osnap) but it's totally fine to compare Wii's launch lineup to PS3's future games.
