halflife is the best selling game of all time... so its the best game of all time if even now like 8 years after its first release it is still selling off the shelf. Plus its got all kinds of mods and stuff. and counterstrike is the most played online game in the world

FFT was a good game, but not THAT good. It would've been better if you didn't have to CONSTANTLY stop to level build or else you wouldn't be able to handle the storyline battles. And if you don't have FFVII in a top games list, you don't know what you're talking about. That is most definitely one of the best RPG's ever made (and arguably the best of the FF series). The only thing it lacked was graphics, but it's so old that you can't expect tooooo much of the graphics.

Oh yeah, know another game that should be up there? Super Smash Brothers! That is the only game I will ever say is MOST DEFINITELY the best game ever created in its genre. And SSBM took it to even greater heights.

FF6 and ChronoTrigger are the best of all time. Don't argue, just admit it. Between the two of them, you can keep busy for weeks.

My personal favorites (at the moment at least) are Legend of Zelda:A Link to the Past (an oldy but a goody), FFVI, and Super Smash Bros Melee (never gets old). So, from this list, i'd probably pick FFVI. I'm a pure Nintendo fan, though, so my views are probably fairly biased.

I'd think it'd be pretty hard to actually make one of these polls that suits everyone because there are so many classic games out there. Old school nintendo games, new playstation rpgs and fighting games, computer first-person-shooters. Etc. Everyone has different opinions on all of these, varying opinions, 'twould be hard to please everyone. But, good luck none the less.

there can be no "ultimate game". there can be best in each genre, but there is no overall best. you cannot compare the GTA series to the pac-man series. and although i love zelda, WW should not be up there, it hasn't aged that well and it doesn't have enought replay value. the most FUN game i have ever played is super smash brothers melee, so if any game is the best, that is my choice.

and jello, i don't think half-life was the best selling game of all time. i believe it was super mario brothers 3 for the NES. (anyone know for sure?)

I love the old mario games for nintendo and snes Excpesially Mario Bros. 2 Great game. Duck hunter is an awsome game too.. when you miss a duck..the damn dog laughs at you....OH OH.. anyone played Battle toads?That used to be my favorite game.
