    Re: The Wii is Here.

lol i just got through the toy time galaxy... it is funny.. but also a bit annoying with how the momentum works. you just can't be precise! but it was still fun. i haven't run into anything beside the lack of precision with the spring suit and swimming (lol shells) but even then the game is still loads of fun.

i finally reserved smash. Out of the games out for wii, what should i get next? is Z&W really worth the money? All i have currently is Warioware, Zelda, and Galaxy. in my defense, i haven't had money until very recently.. lol.

Dang it. I already bought every good game on their list. Why didn't you tell me about this sooner? =/

    For others:

    Trauma Center 2
    Zack and Wiki
    Mario Galaxy
    Smash
    possibly Raving Rabbids 2
    possibly Super Paper Mario

So you need to buy three of those.

Yeah, well, I paid $41 for Brawl, $41 for Trauma Center, and $44 for Galaxy. I'm not too bummed about that. Oh, and I got Guitar Hero 3 for $75. Can't beat that.

I guess I can let my friend know so he can take advantage of this sale =/

    In other news.

I've discovered the way to circumvent my spin-attack problems.

Jump, then spin-attack, then ground pound. It's a homing attack.

in galaxy it took me a while to get used to the gravity. jumping and using the spin-attack was a little hard for me in the first stage but then i picked up and now i don't miss a jump, the camera is not a problem for me either in fact i like it to be upside down.

well squeek i suffer the same problem as you, i had the bad idea of buying galaxy without finish zack and wiki first, (and some other DS and gamecube games what can i say school never lets me finish any game in time XD) and oh boy every time i woke up in the morning the same question goes to my mind "wich one i'm gonna play today?" and when i play one i feel guilty of not playing the other XD.

as far as wich one is better, i think mario galaxy is more fun than zack and wiki but it's gameplay style is one of my favorites (i love point and click games, phoenix wright for example), i just simply can't say wich one is better until i see the end of both (because we know that the last stage of any mario game is always awesome) and to tell you the truth i felt dissapointed too at the first star, but the game picked up after a while, now is one of my favorite 3D platformer (super smash bros 3 will always be the best for me xD)

and last but not least it turns out that galaxy did the impossible on gamerankings, it has a higher score than ocarina of time, (and it has a decent number of reviews), kinda shocking isn't it? now i think mario galaxy has an oportunity for game of the year

What I do now is try to spin them, but jump immediately afterwards. This lets me spin again in mid-air.

And yeah Seth, I've died in Z&W loads of times. It sucks when they put a timed puzzle right at the very end of the stage after all your hard work and it kills you, but it's not frustrating at all. It's just like "well shucks".

How would I have known to grab my umbrella before trying to banish the demon from the treasure chest =(

Started playing it this morning and played it for about 5 hours straight. REALLY fun game. I haven't had any complaints about it so far. Some of the little minigame-galaxies were somewhat annoying, but I have to admit they were pretty clever. A few of them reminded me of the fun little platformer stages in Sunshine that were easily the best parts of that game.

And I dunno about you guys but I have no problem hitting enemies with the spin. :P

lol i had the same problem with jumping on heads when the perspective was askew, but it went away after some time.. i've never had trouble spin attacking enemies. Maybe you're just handicapped ;P Honestly, there's something about that game that really appeals to me... the art in it is amazing. it's almost like observing nature in a way.. there's something just visual stimulating about it. At 80 stars i couldn't be more happy! i think i'll pick up Z&W soon.. sort of reminds me of old point and click adventures like Maniac Mansion and i always liked those :]

Lmao. How many times you died so far? I think I read you die loads, sort of trial and error way of figuring some things out?

    Man.

    Wiki is awesome.

I mean, yeah, the game is awesome, but that silly little flying monkey thing is the coolest video game character ever.

"Zack! They caught up to us! I can't imagine how many ways they'll kill you! I...I can't watch! Of course, I'll be fine because I can just fly away."

    He's adorable. He's funny. He's sadistic.

    How awesome is that.

yeah I figured that out basically instantly but half the time I want to move the camera, IT SIMPLY WILL NOT LET ME >

I miss the B button attack from Super Mario 64 also: crappy perspective is why I want to move the camera around but oops lol all i can do is go to first person look around mode

Yea I had that problem mostly when upside down, feels like my depth perception is way of or something sometimes. I've learned a bit better now though.

It's ok. The upside down stuff is REALLY troublesome, mostly because it won't let me control the camera at all ever. Gravity is fun, but of course, it leads to upside down stuff and that sucks.

Then I got to the bee stage and got stuck and simply didn't feel like figuring out what to do. I couldn't even be assed enough to even try to figure it out.

ps definitely not best platformer ever. SMW or SMB3 takes that title. 3D games cannot even be considered for that title due to the addition of a superfluous dimension.

I got up today and went "Hmm which would I rather play... Z&W or Galaxy?"

And to be honest, I'm more excited about continuing Zack and Wiki. However, at the same time, I don't want to get too far in it before I show it off to my friends.

I mean, I gave it to a friend to play just two days after I got it. I just recently got it back and I still haven't continued playing. My theory with Prime was that I was just too busy with schoolwork that I felt guilty every time I turned on the game instead of working on a project or homework assignment

I kinda felt the same when I first played it. That intro bit like, Then catching the lumas and stuff. But after I got the Bee suit I dunno, the game just really picked up for me. I found it a lot more fun.
