At this point it feels pretty RNG heavy to me. I'm really really consistently fast through the start but I find the special puzzles in the maze room are so polarized. I either solve them instantly or ...I waste huge amounts of time trying to get it (when that happens I find solving it backwards most consistent, but it still wastes time).

I think what makes the triangle puzzles so hard is the fact that they don't really allow for any deviation, unlike every other puzzle in the challenge. For example, the black-and-white color challenges usually have several possible pathways you could take that accomplishes the goal of separating the colors. With the triangle puzzles, you've only got like one or two possible pathways and that's it.

At least the triangle puzzles are, afaik, always possible. The 2 color and 3 color challenges range from incredibly simple to extremely difficult, and can even be impossible.

It feels real good when you have 3 impossible puzzles.

Yeah I was gonna say. Only 1 is ever possible. I usually stand back and glance at all 3 for a few seconds and can usually immediately tell which one is the possible one.

I can definitely get to the pillars at ~2 minute pace, but I just can't finish it. I've gotten really hard pillar puzzles every time I get past the triangles lmao and that feels like luck most of the time.

Gonna take a break from the game for a few days I think and then come back fresh.



As an aside, while this is completely unrelated, has anyone ever played Toki Tori 2+?

I was playing it a bit today again and it reminded me of how similar in nature it is to the witness.

It's basically a 2d witness style puzzle game (Open world puzzle game with 0 instructions, everything is intuited and explained by tutorial puzzles).

You guys might like it (or not, depending on whether or not you actually liked the witness lmao), it's 90% off on steam right now if interested.

Yeah, fuck the pillar puzzles are the reason I haven't beaten this yet. Might try again soon. Was nice to see him get screwed over.

But he got a damn easy final puzzle. I can only wish for something like that.
