Also you could try getting more people to test files. you take like a year to add 5 songs.

This is really funny when you consider that we added TEN files to the game last week alone.

I think these songs give FFR a bad impression to the beginner of this type of game.
For example, I introduced my sis to this game, she hated it because the songs she played (obviously the easier, older ones) were poorly stepped.
Later I introduced SM, she likes that a lot better, there are a ton of beginner songs that are well stepped (on-synced and skinned)
Moral of the story:I'm sure a whole bunch of other people turned down FFR due to the poorly stepped songs, it's a pity.

THe major problem is that ALL the easy songs (trip to the moon, rock, hip hop, funk, mario) are old and piles of ****.

That's why I am, as of now, making some new easy songs as well as new hard ones.

Stop bitching about them, you're not FORCED to play them.

Whenever I see an argument like this it really sets me off.

He's ****ing entitled to an opinion. He thinks the old sucky files should be taken out of the game so FFR is more well rounded, not necessarily because he hates playing them. If we make new, better easy songs and get rid of these old ones the game would feel more complete.

I agree with this guy. Get rid of the ****ty old ones and make new easy ones.

anyone that is turned off to ffr just because they played a few crappy songs shouldn't play anyways. i mean, all you gotta do is just choose another song (there's a good chance it won't be ****ty) and avoid the ones you don't like.

Here it is again. The point the thread starter is trying to make is NOT necessarily that people don't like the game because they played those songs (even though this may be true for some new people), but that the game would have a better first impression for new people if we had better made easy simfiles and would make the game more well rounded as a whole.

i agree, but i say keep Trip to the Moon and some of the other traditional beginner songs up for those who just entered the game. Otherwise, trash or re-step all the others.

If I'm not wrong, a lot of the people who play ffr play as guests and the top few songs played everyday are beginner songs. It wouldn't hurt too bad if we gave em a few new songs (and better) to play with.

The guy says get rid of the ****ty files ... okay, then who's to decide what gets taken out and what stays? The admins? I'm sure that'll bring in a whole slew of new complaints. The public? Biased opinions because they can't do well on a song so it affects their average rank? Also another whole slew of complaints.

So if you can find a way to make both the general public, the vets, and the staff happy, then good for you (no sarcasm) and you deserve the Nobel Peace prize or something.

Instead of making everyone happy make the most people you can happy.

Unfortuntely for some dumb reason all the admins etc. and most people I guess wouldn't like to do this even though the sims really really suck and the game wouldn't really suffer if they were all taken out. Gotta go with the majority even if the decisions don't make sense / are strongly against what you believe.

Well Hi19's idea was pretty cool. And I really admire what he's doing making new BEGINNER songs as well. Other settled FFR sim makers should do the same thing. He's actually attracting more members.

Here's the thing. If you have a song that has emotional meaning to Synthlight or Tasser or Shasha or Chuck Norris, well it's alright we're all attached to stuff, but AT LEAST resync some files and change some stuff. Thing's don't last forever guys... Everything goes on and new stuff can be made everyday.

What I'm getting at is, people now a days are starting to like different kinds of files (not everyone for sure, but most are) and the new SM packs such as PPP and the SMGKBMP have helped change people's minds about simfile making and playing styles. Of course, I keep in mind that FFR and SM are alike but kind of different simfile wise, but FFR itself has shown an evolution in simfile making with the latest additions. A file should not SUCK in order to be easy. There's some really cool easy files. Any file can be good if done correctly.
