Its not Rocket Science guys. A lot of people enjoy playing the really old files. If you are not one of them (Dj_Ossa) then ignore them.There are so many good files in FFR, I'm sure the crappy ones arent hurting you any by just being there. Plus, pulling them out or messing with them would only leave you with a lot of angry FFRers... kinda like when Beethoven Virus was removed.

I see your point Bahamut ... but wtf? Take out the OLD off-sync songs? What about the one that just came out (Improvisation et Chien)?

I would glady re-sync it, and apprently Rebirth would too.

They would be better if they were re-synced, not taken completely out of the game.

Although I do think Chrono should be taken out, or at least fixed.

Well, I've been gone a while, but I second everything hi and baha has said.
Like sertman said, no one has ever given a reason why the files aren't allowed to be fixed.

I think one of the problems is that FFR has such a monopoly on this style of online gaming, so the higher up people (admins etc.) don't really care about quality because there is no other site to compete with. If another FFR site was started with ALL of their songs being well-stepped, their newcomers/noobs would most likely stay longer, at the same time drawing players from here.
I kinda tired now so I don't know if what I said made any sense but whatever...

Hi, I've played FFR since it existed, and I would be EXTREMELY sad to see any of the old files that I liked to play changed.

Synth is big on historical preservation, and probably wouldn't like to see his own files (they may not be high quality for various factors, but hey, way to call the site owner's files ****ty and tell him to remove them from his game) taken out.

Also, who's to say offsync steps aren't fun? Those files were damn fun when there wasn't any other choice, and they're still damn fun now; nothing changed about them. Suggest that the songs be redone if you want, but taking entire files out of the game? Ridiculous!

Ya, I would be destroyed to see all of the old files removed. A bunch of v2s will be added sometime, but right now they can't have more than 12 songs in the purchased section, which is where they want to put all the v2s. I'm still wishing I could play all of the ancient songs that were taken out of FFR before I ever got here, and now I'll never get to play in FFR.

Hey Guido I totally get where you're coming from, and I respect that. That's why I wrote this:

Here's the thing. If you have a song that has emotional meaning to Synthlight or Tasser or Shasha or Chuck Norris, well it's alright we're all attached to stuff, but AT LEAST resync some files and change some stuff. Thing's don't last forever guys... Everything goes on and new stuff can be made everyday.

This is why I said "well ok if you won't take them out I totally respect and understand that, but at least... sync the files". I understand they're old, and that Synthlight is not the best simfile maker in the world, but you guys could at least sync those offsynced old files in order to give FFR a better look. Newcomers will really appreciate that.

The reason this is SO important is simple. You come here looking for a fun, easily reached music game to spare some time AND listen to some music while you're at it, and you find yourself in a spot where you actually have to TURN OFF THE VOLUME sometimes in order to properly hit the keys, because the offsyncness of the file is SOOO bad. That doesn't make guests happy IMO, that gives them a bad impression of the game.

I'm not being bs here neither. I've been on FFR for almost 4 years now, just never took part on the community (I had a REALLY old account), and THIS was the issue that really got me into playing SM instead.

Now, I know after your post and Shasha's post that this is not going to happen what so ever, but I just felt like suggesting it simply because it bothers me and makes me want to not play FFR ever again and I'm sure a LOT of people think the same way when they play these files.

You can have feelings towards the classics, but you need to always try to make your game better and drag the classics with it. Don't take'em out, but please, AT LEAST sync them.

See, here is the thing though, if they do sync them.
1.) People will be happy that they are synced.
2.) People will find other songs to complain about and expect them to be changed, because they "already changed songs to conform with everyone else".
In the end, it is better to just leave them as they are. If you have a problem with any songs, DON'T PLAY THEM! You have over 150+ other songs you can play, eight to twelve songs compared to the 150+ other songs is really nothing.

As far as I'm concerned, though, that's changing the whole song.

If nothing else, look at those songs as a challenge.

And, not to sound rude or anything, but I don't believe that offsync songs are turning away more than a handful of people.

Thousands upon thousands of people fell in love with the game when the ONLY songs were offsync, so please understand my incredulity.

Ok, I think I found a middle ground for what I was trying to stress.
If you guys are so obsessed in wanting to keep those files, why not stick them all in a new genre: OFFSYNC
This way, those that want to keep the files know where to look, and the newcomers know where to avoid.

Anyways, I don't see the point in keeping Funk and HipHop in 2 separate ones, them having like 5 songs each, whereas Dance etc. have more than 5 times that amount.

Couldnt someone resync them? And is it just me, or do some d1 songs have gallops? Im not sure of theyre supposed to be jumps or not, but those piss me off when I try to AAA it.

And to the YOU DONT HAVE TO PLAY IT argument: What if youre trying to AAA all the easy songs? Its not exactly good for your health to go on a rampage because the damn gallops come out of nowhere and that was the only thing that messed you up. I am a full supporter of re-syncing the songs but Im against taking them out as it would be unfair to people who already have AAA'd them.

Well, if you are trying to AAA all the "easy" songs, and you can't AAA those songs. Then maybe they aren't that "easy". =P
