shade, keep trying on backgrounds....lol if u call cropping out rectangular portions of pictures from google and pasting them onto one big template a Background, you need to really practice. not trying to be mean, but...yeah.

Yeah I was pretty bad on that one. I just found some on Yahoo and Google then inverted them. Ahh whatever. The next ones I am going to build off scratch. (P.S. Dont call me shade, instead its just shade11)

I am not so good a Photoshop, InDesign, and Fireworks. I use them though. My best one was probably my below the surface. But there are more of those submissions to be made.

Anyways here is my Below the Surface one. I used some basic paint paintings then edited it with photoshop. Heh, heh I love using that program.

It was a good pic, Nyokou, but you (and one other person) had the whole "girl" motif going on...and I didn't think that really fit with the song. This one took me about a half hour to judge because I was going through ideas and motifs in my head.

You listen to the lyrics and she's talking about how no one loves her because she's a computer. She has a keyboard and monitor and everything, she's not like the android from Outlaw Star or anything.

I thought having a soft, lush female image kind of cut away from the cold detachment she's talking about in the song. The image that won had a really cold look to it and it was a bunch of circuits and stuff, like the whole thing was in a big icy fog. I thought that fit perfectly.

You rock at art, though. Keep it up.

ap entered Computer Dreams with an image that took him 5 minutes to make.

It was slightly less cool than the one that won.

Hey Nyokou, what do you use to make those BG's?

Bryce to Photoshop, very easy to tell.
I deliberately kept it simple because I knew that there would be overlays, like a heath bar, a score field, the stasis arrows, and then also the moving arrows. You add all that together, and it fits perfectly. Other peoples' would have too much going on and too much cut off. (I of course used the 2nd style interface as an overlay, but still.)

By now I know I have no chance at winning. I have to get better at photoshop first. I have all of the right tools. InDesign, Fireworks, Photoshop, and Illustrator. But I don't know how to make cool stuff on it

Oh crap. Cenright made me think of something. On all the work I've been messing around with, I've been using a mock up of the overlay from the current form of R1. Will it be the same size/placement in the next version? Could we perhaps get a blacked out shadow of the health/score overlay or something to work with?
