Usually I'm not going to think a background is very good when I can easily tell the exact combination of Photoshop filters you used to make it.

Bevel and Emboss + Drop Shadow, MAN this is going to be awsome, hope Chardish like it XD. The only one that I've thought that was really good in this thread was Tank's Burnout......It's sweet!

That's not really fair to judge though Chardish. Do you know how many BGs like Tell Me A Story and other use the same techniques for the look of a BG? If I see another one that just looks like a mess with colors on it like the Tell Me A Story bg, I'm gonna be mad. Give people a chance man.

Seriously, when I see images like that I think "anyone could do it if they just apply the right filters in the right order." It doesn't make me feel like the person is putting lots of effort into it.

Talent usually wins, in my book. The person who looks like the most talented artist wins the competition. I want people to look at FFR and say it's a professionally made game.

I've submitted one for CIA Rave, but it's a shame I didn't finish my Burnout one in time. It was very good.

It's also a shame all I can do is bring my camera outside, take a picture, slap it in PS and manipulate. I can only do one nice looking thing from scratch. XD

Go for it, Nyokou...the reason yours won was because it was the only quality one submitted :P

Not to say that it wasn't good, because it was - but if you want to work on it more, that's awesome.

I'm not in much of the mood to enter the contest....Maybe if we get a photoshop thread and have like contests in it or something I'll enter some. I have some experience with photoshop.....more tahn basics....and I can make ALOT better looking fire than this hahah but I had fun making it, I'll probably make more just for fun....Maybe one I';ll actually try on .

Looks cool but it was so easy to make. If I do end up entering a background I'll spend much more time on it than that.......Plus I am capable of making much better looking flames.
