Earning is the wrong word here.

If I were to sell a profile for 150,000 credits right now (Total amount to own all secret songs), I wouldn't have "earned" the secret songs at all.

Yes, I did work on a profile in exchange for a credit value, however, I did not earn them the way they were originally thought to be earned; through playing.

I believe that is the point Marcus is talking about, but my post still stands about entire reworks.

Would users be opposed to attaching secret song requirements to minimum grand total score amounts needed, which once met, would keep the song permanently unlocked? Nothing absurdly high. Seems like this would alleviate both issues addressed in the OP.

I can answer both of those questions. I know you did not ask the second one yourself but it is synonymous to the question you asked.

You earn them.

True, but Token songs are different.
You earn Tokens by having certain skills at the game, and they don't unfortunately count towards your Ranks. Also, once you unlock the song, you don't need to unlock it again!
Secret Songs on the other hand require credits, which you don't need skill to earn, AND it counts towards your public level ranks.
Someone can be really good, but have only 10k credits, as opposed to someone who's not very good and got lucky in a tournament or the hall and gets 200k credits. What upsets me even more is that if you lose the credits, you lose the songs, and you have to go back to square 1 and earn them back.

These credits can also be used to purchase songs, change your username color, and get cards at the TCG.....at the cost of your beloved song(s) that may take a while to even touch again, let alone improve on it and increase your rank.

I respect your opinion, and I agree with some of it, but I have mine too! :P

Orchestral Angels has a requirement like this and I always thought it was weird that more songs that required minimum grand totals to unlock were never added to the game. I support the idea.

I'd like this change, something like 5 Bil GT for all secret songs? Iunno what the set number would be, though it would work excluding giving even less value to credits while also including the incentive to get Veteran Status earlier (if not obtained already).

I hear rumors (don't know if they're true) that there's future innovation and developing going on regarding the use of credits, so there can still be incentive for credits; just not for secret songs!

I don't know how to make a poll, but I think I should make one! Do you think they should happen?

got no problem with it. users would be more wiling to spend credits on purchased songs then

edit: if i added correctly, then total credits needed to get all purchased songs would be 155,354.

Hopefully, people can actually use these credits instead of "hogging" them to change their color and unlock purchased songs!!
