If something does happen to the Legacy Files...

Make sure some of the files under Purchased and Secret be dealt with too. I'm sure you guys know that though.

    JUST MAKING SURE!

      Yes.

If a newer player goes into legacy and sees horribly offsync files with random steps, that player is probably going to think: What the hell? I thought this was a RHYTHM game. Why is it all blue arrows? What is with "legacy"? Do these really count towards public ranks?

As much as I could be like "hey I actually worked for these AAAs blah blah blah" some things to consider are:
      - It is incredibly asinine to be wanting to have crappy files to your advantage.
      - Never wanting to play the songs again after AAAing them. The funnest legacy files I've seen are Beethoven Virus, Secret Zombie Room, and One Minute Waltz. Even then, I don't feel like playing them again. I have basically just ignored the legacy genre now ever since I've AAA'd it.

Because I know people don't want their work to just "go to waste" tokens/achievements can be rewarded. Ever wonder why token songs like Rudi the Techno Pioneer are basically deserted? There is very little incentive to play those files in the first place.

So far the vote is 15 to keep them in the ranks and 28 to take them out. Anyone else who has yet to vote, weigh in!

          Re: FFR Legacy Opinion Poll

well there's a degree I'd like to remove these shit files from the level ranks (btw keep the files they aren't just history, they are part of FFR and files we all played for years, nostalgia too) and I'd also like to get rev etude out of the ranks but some of these aren't that dumb and I'd hate to see Molto Vivace and OMW removed from level ranks. They are hard songs I still strive for good rankings on and removing these should remove shit like crowdpleaser then too, cause lets be honest half of these are better than crowdpleaser.

I guess I'm for keeping them but removing them from average ranks?

              Re: FFR Legacy Opinion Poll

I reflect mainly what others said here:

              >Keep in-game due to nostalgia
              >Remove from Public Level Ranks
              >Make separate page for them OR move to token ranks and give out "achievement tokens" for clearing legacy objectives. I am more for the latter.

              Seems the most pragmatic solution.

I would really like to see an entirely new section of levelranks just for legacy files, but if they got added to the token ranks, I wouldn't mind either.

not again..(nice completely unnecessary, ego stroking parenthesis)

Anybody who makes a token like any of this should be shot on sight. Here, play an entire genre of poorly-stepped files. Here's another poorly-stepped file that nobody will play seriously as your token reward.

The challenge is in the files themselves and slapping a token on top wouldn't have any positive aspect IMO.

I voted leave them as they are. I've said it before.. they're public files and, as such, should have public ranks.

Well that's what I'm saying, just because I've done it doesn't mean it should be implemented.

I think a particular cumulative score across all Synth files would be sufficient

how about every time you play a synthlight file, the score screen says "lol why'd you play this"

oh and yeah, take legacy files out of public ranks

Hey, I have a new idea.

Play one song on your FFR account, and you UNLOCK the Legacy genre with a message saying "These songs are a part of FFR's history! We know they suck."!!!

Move them all to token level ranks now, bam, it all makes sense. They're not public til you play, thus they don't need to be in public ranks.

super token: play one song unlock fifty. I don't quite think so.
