    Re: FFR Legacy Opinion Poll

    So make the legacy files better, and if that cant happen then just leave em. It was BAD but they didnt just say hey lets just get rid of it and make a new flavor. They improved it. Getting rid of the files just because they're bad isnt gonna improve anything... lul

      Also the reason I say keep them, but move them to their own ranks/token ranks

              Why exactly Marcus? And if thats the case then i would say give a token or WHATEVER for getting them ALL either FCd or AAAd or something and not individual tokens. That way its harder and STILL brag worthy.. lol

                I would be in favor of having a token that changed color as you improved it. For example, it could start bronze for playing them all, turn silver for SDGs, then gold for all AAA's. There could also be a token for AAAing your first synth file or other such milestones.

                But yes, I think they should be out of public ranking.

                  "we" = roughly 500 people
                  the number people who might have interest in playing this game = 100,000+

                  there's no reason to force new players who want to beef up their stats into playing old, outdated files. the oldest charts don't even represent the authors' original intentions due to the rudimentary file converter used at the time.

                    Legacy really is not a good representation of the effort steppers put into their files nowadays. There are plenty of files that are unfun ingame, don't get me wrong on this, but these legacy files really don't fit the "rhythm gaming" aspect properly considering how off their placements are.

                    Good legacy classics include files like Secret Zombie Room and Beethoven Virus. These are pretty fun despite being blue note files. After I AAA'd Revolutionary Etude for instance, I *never* wanted to play that pile of garbage ever again. The same goes for most legacy files.

                      Remove from ranks because they are gimmicky and poorly stepped. Remain in game for the sake of history and nostalgia. Token for taking on the challenge.

                            I could see this. Pass all could be a token, and FC all legacy genre files could be another. AAA all of them though would be bullshit (even though I've done it).

                            I do support achievement-type rewards, so it could be applied to legacy.

                                But yes, I think they should be out of public ranking.
                                Being out of public ranking would be great, especially for those who are new to the site, so that way they don't have to worry about annoying off-sync BNS files, or think that they ever have to AAA them.

                                I would imagine that this token would be excluding Revolutionary etude at the very least, considering the large gap between this file and the rest in the legacy genre. Chances are that if it isn't excluded, almost no one would achieve beyond the FC requirement. Obviously the AAA portion is possible with revo, but it would pretty much be Dossar exclusive for a long time (and even SDG is still pretty ridiculous with revo in the mix really).

                                Also for anyone not wanting this change because they worked hard on Legacy files: I worked hard on them as well, but I'm not going to hinder the progression of this site because of something selfish like that. RunnyMornings (SGX mix) is probably one of my most lucky and awesome AAA's, but that accomplishment won't vanish just because it's removed from public level ranks. All it means is that now people won't have to try and play / AAA these files to improve their average ranks (meaning less frustration for players who want to improve their stats). They can stay on FFR for historical reasons as long as that is ALL they are here for, and don't effect anyone's ranks.

                                Although if they are removed from level ranks, this shouldn't mean they they remove the top 200 leaderboard for the songs or anything.
