You can try something like ASKL, that would be considered spread. You can obviously keep playing around and experimenting until you find what you're the more comfortable with.. I also suggest keeping playing one hand too a little so you have a stronger hand and can take advantage on it on specific harder patterns with mirror etc. That's pretty much how I started up.

You should try 1.75x speed if you can, the game run more smoothly with speedmods like 1.5x/1.75x/2.0x. Most of the people who do good on 10-12+ are playing with two hands on letters, but for a one hander you're doing alright. It depends how you want to play and for what goals etc.

Well, just getting the right keyboard/settings/not having lags etc. can make like a huuuuge difference no matter how good you are. I'm not really good at the really harder songs (difficulty 12), but I compensate by having no problem on anything lower and fixing keyboard/lag etc. was like 80% of everything. \o\
