I always carry a gourd on my back filled with an abundant amount of chakra-enhanced sand that has been soaked in the blood of those who I killed.
My main defense is my Shield of Sand, which protects me from all harm, but can still be defeated with enough speed and strength. If my Shield of Sand fails, I still have my Armor of Sand, a layer of highly compacted sand that is wrapped around my body. Although it gives me an almost ultimate defense.
