The imagined flight

I pain to think of the being who flaps its wings continuously to lift up into the endless sky above it, but fails to rise...

The pain must grow ever further of the being should it see its companions to its side soar away, leaving it behind and alone with nothing to see but the forever lost scape...

Then, the only course for the creature is to flap its wings ever harder, growing in strength until the one day that it rises off the ground into the next world.
