2nd Official FFR Tournament: Round 1
Okay, so after a week of looking through an unimaginably large number of levelrank lists, I finally finished placing everyone…which means it’s time to begin the tournament!
If you’re one of the over a thousand players who signed up for this tournament, check this thread to see which division you’re in and which song you’ll be playing. Send a screenshot of the best score you can get on your division’s main song (you can submit as many screenshots as you want, only the last one counts) to shashakiro@yahoo.com. You can also use FFR’s Private Message system to send me screenshots of your scores. Only scores achieved after the start of the round are valid. Remember, there are prizes for the top 8 spots in each division, and the top 3 of each division get cash prizes.
More information and rules for the tournament can be found here.
The first round ends on Wednesday, February 7th at 11:00 PM EST. Don’t forget to submit a score before then if you’re in the tournament!
Happy FFR’ing,
FFR Tournament is over!
After eight long weeks of tournament play, the Official 2006 FFR R1 Tournament is finally over. After many tough matches, the winners from each division are:
Expert ($100):
Bahamut-X
Advanced ($80):
Akorn
Beginner ($70):
HansSky
Congratulations to all three of you for victory–PM me with your PayPal address to get your prize money.
Expect another tournament at some point in the coming months…and next time, I promise that signups will last for more than 12 hours.
NOTE:
Also, you might have noticed some minor changes to a few songs in the game recently — some maintenance is being done on some of the songs to improve their sync, and fix noteskin glitches. Nothing fundamental about the songs will change though, don’t worry.
Happy FFR’ing,
Straight to Round 4
EDIT: If you’re using Internet Explorer and having some trouble getting into multiplayer or getting scores recorded–it’s being worked on, please be patient
Straight to Video, the MSI song that was accounced to be on FFR, has finally arrived! The steps are by Psychozerosk8er, it’s fairly long (3:44), and has a moderate difficulty level. Straight to Video can be found in the Rock section of FFR, and more information on MSI can be found in this news post.
Also (nice how these keep coinciding, eh), the fourth round of the FFR tournament has started–check this thread for details. The fourth round concludes the winners’ bracket for the Expert division, and will produce one finalist who will play the winner of the losers’ bracket.
Happy FFR’ing,
FFR Tournament Round 3 + Song of the Week
The third round of the tournament began two days ago–check this thread for which songs to play, matchups, and results from Round 2. If you’ve managed to make it to Round 3, don’t forget to submit by Wednesday, October 4th.
Also, the Song of the Week was released yesterday. This week’s song, Famouz, sets a record for being the shortest song ever added to FFR, at a mere 49 seconds in length–but with nearly 400 steps in that 49 seconds, it’s quite challenging, so don’t be fooled by the short length. The song is by Richee, an up and coming electro/rap artist who uses a unique blend of synthwork and sliced beats behind his lyrics to give his music a unique sound. He is currently attending college and working on his first album release. For more music by him, check out his official page at www.switchee.com. Famouz, stepped by Mead1, can be found in the Hip-Hop genre of FFR.
Tournament Round 2 and Song of the Week 2
The first round of the FFR R1 tournament is over, and Round 2 has begun! Check this thread to see the results and scores from Round 1, as well as the Round 2 songs and matchups for those who made it through the first round.
Also, this week will feature not one, but two new songs for FFR. The second song of the week will be Klung Kung 2004, which is already a Spin it Up song and will join the ranks of FFR songs tonight or tomorrow morning at the same time that Jelly Roll Blues is added.
Something besides “Cheers”,
