Profile Backgrounds
So, in December, the backgrounds for profiles were not behaving correctly. This was fixed about 2 weeks ago, although we never formally announced it. Now we have. Enjoy the fix, my little FFRspacers.

MeTrivia. Hmmmmm..
If you have not seen our MeTrivia game in the past, you should definitely check it out. We have been pondering the possibility of integrating MeTrivia tightly with the profile system to the point where each profile could have a specific set of trivia questions that the profile user enters in. There would then be leaderboard for each seperate profile with the ability to then reflect those stats back on your very own profile.
Thoughts?
Play awhile Here -> http://www.metrivia.com/MetriviaTheGame.php and let me know what you think.
You can play as a guest if you want.
Cheers,

No More Loss Of AAAs!
It’s been a long time coming, but we’ve finally buckled down and taken care of over-AAA scores. As of now, they’ll no longer record, regardless of how it happened. You all may now rejoice in the streets. There will be dancing and wine for those of age. Big thanks to Lightdarkness for coding this.
Also, if you’ve somehow missed it, there is a new block on the main page of the site. In the upper right corner, above the Latest Profiles and FFR Videos blocks is the shiny and new Recent Game Plays block, courtesy of LD (idea by heyitsmee).
Finally, a new subbie song is out. There will be much rejoicing about this as well. Now that I’m back in LA, expect the song release schedule to be back to normal.

PS – Jason requests me to notify all of you about the new Word Find game located within profiles.
Stickies are not just for the FFR Forum
The holidays were a little (LOT) over the top and a lot insane for the FFR Staff. With that in mind, and since we are mostly settling back in, I thought it would be a good time to have some fun. Hope you all know how to work on and configure your profiles
Watch for another post tonight regarding some updates. Consider this your early hint of things to come.
Word Scramble – New Profile Feature!
If you’ve seen some funny-looking letter combinations in your profile, it’s not because we’re horrible spellers, but rather, FFR profiles now feature Scramble, a simple, yet addictive game that requires players to decipher strings of letters into a word which matches the given clue.
Currently, 450 words and phrases are Scramble ready, ranging from easy to insane in difficulty, with more and more being added in every single day, so keep watch for updates to raise your score. Currently, Scramble keeps record of your personal lifetime score as well as a top 10 ranking located in the Scramble window, so rack your brain and shoot for the top 10!
Subscribers have had access to the game for about a week now and if anyone is having trouble loading the game now, some updates were made, so try clearing your cache and refreshing the page.
Above all, please have fun with the addition and if you experience problems or have suggestions for the game, let us know in the FFR suggestions forum.
Top 10 Level Stats Added Back To FFR Profiles
Back by popular demand, the Top Ten Level Stats block is once again working in FFR Profiles (as can be seen in Tasselfoot’s profile.
With the new servers configured and in a solid master / slave configuration, we think these stats won’t hurt us as much as it did in the past. However, we are keeping a close eye on things and if it causes too much pain, we may pull them and try looking at other options. They are still using a 1 hour cache, so make sure to give it time to update if you live by stats
Additionally, we have seen suggestions in the forums regarding additional stats that we are looking at as possible future feature enhancements. However, these kinds of statistics have pretty massive database requirements and we will be watching performance as we go forward to make sure we can handle it.
As more updates are made available, we will keep you guys posted. More soon …
Chardish,
*Edit*: Likely you saw that we added images to comments as well. That might also evolve in the weeks to come. Will see how well the initial functionality behaves.
