But yeah, @ everyone else... definitely appreciate the insight and it feels good to know that my crazy emotionz were something that everyone experiences to a degree. Any tips on how to manage that other than "don't get upset" lol? That alone doesn't seem to work too well for me :/
Honestly, I don't think I have anything other than that. TWG is a game where players let their inner sociopaths run wild. If deceiving and/or being deceived has a negative effect on you emotionally, then playing the game might not be worth it. I would assume that playing in more and more games could desensitize someone who has trouble at first, but I would also assume that doesn't apply to absolutely everyone.
I think it's a fun game, but it is just a game. The decision of whether or not it's worthwhile to keep playing ultimately comes down to each individual.
My two main concerns with the hydra game are:
Garnering enough interest to have enough veterans and new Players sign up.
Avoiding veterans from taking the lead the entire game and neglect to teach the newer Player. If the new Player has a veteran to rely on, I worry that he/she may value his/her own opinions less and contribute less in consequence.
Those aside though, I can't say I've ever tried one out, so I would be willing to have one, if only to hope my concerns are nothing to worry about.
I like Vendetta21's suggestion for a MafiaScum matrix6. It's a simple setup and the two SE and one IC veteran-base does nicely to stir up the game and let new Players jump in more easily. It would require a bit of extra time for the veterans to teach about theory and strategies (a problem quite a number of ICs have on MafiaScum), but if an FFR TWGer is willing to participate, I would imagine it not be a problem.
P.S. - Confirming that Slack is A+ and all the new Players should join it!!!!!!!!!

I would say if you are okay with being desensitized to people being deceptive and manipulative keep playing. You will stop being so impacted by it and you will also be much, much better at catching it, but as has kinda been said by others in the thread (i think?) someone being deceptive/manipulative will not shake you the same way as over time you will have trained yourself to be more interested in their intentions than their actions.
Then why are all of you trying as hard as you possibly can to normalize it?
its a departure from the norm b/c people were banned for far less than those quotes in my opinion

I'm still hoping that I can improve as a player... I've played three TWGs, the first of which I was killed in the first hour of a phase because someone guessed my identity and that was a pre-requisite for killing...
my second and third games, I was a wolf and I did terrible both times. When I was under pressure, I got extremely offended (second game), or just flew UTR because I was panicking and didn't really know how to defend myself (third game). Hopefully I can get into the next jTWG and actually get into a more... tame game, I suppose.
you replaced out of 103 really quickly so I guess you could say that one didn't count
but yeah I think we need either a coaching system or having like a vet as a vt.
When I went to roll this game; I was really scared that the wolves were going to be Yoshl/Gun, because that was a scary possibility for the newer players, so I'm glad that didn't happen.

I'll go ahead and take the blame for this, I was helping tutor a bunch of players who played this game and I didn't react to a lot of the tension that happened, I was too busy focusing on helping the players understand roles then playstyle and I should have intervened. So, i'm sorry everyone.
matrix6, 2 of 4, could also do the hydra game if there's enough interest

If the number of volunteers exceed the number of possible veteran slots couldn't we just host a 'pick your teammate' kind of draft like those ones who ruined your teenage self-esteem?
