Great work Tank. A little hard for me on C300, but I can tell it'll be lots of fun when speed mods come in.
Not fun for me on index though. The patterns feel weird.

This is totally the best song on FFR by far. ;o
Great steps, Tank..and I have the number two score right now with 4 goods. :O

Very fun. I loved it. There's a few things I wouldv'e changed but it's good enough. I don't think it's a Tricky in difficulty, more like Challenging.
For some reason I seem to like everything Tank makes.

Song's dull, but that's not what I'm less impressed about... because the stepfile is extremely screwed up. Despite having multiple background beats to play with, the same annoyingly easy piano beat plays for the last three-quarters of the song. Yawn. Give us something half challenging for those who can actually do decent for the first part, please.
No offense Tank or Draigun, but something good like dot death for next week. I fell asleep after the sixteenths ended.

Every single song can't be for experts only, I think this is a great file for those that are fairly good at the game, and want to challenge themselves.

Tokzic's criticism isn't welcome considering the giant n00b he is. You don't know a great file or a song when you see it. As LD said, not every song has to be created for "Guru's or Master's" only to be enjoyed by everyone.

i agree, and a challenge it is...for me that is but good song and step btw

I agree with LD and Fallen; this is a great file. I would probably put it near the top of the dance list so that it would be seen. I can imagine this being, as LD said, a very good training song for improving players (especially the n00blets). I just wish draigun would release the song (or link) so that we simfilers can make some creative stepfiles for this great song!

Is it easier than SZR according to the rating? XD
I think this is like Eggman's Quasar.

It's a nice song with nice steps. While the steps are challenging, they aren't to the point that makes me pull my hair.
And I also think that the stepchart's is of a higher difficulty than "Tricky". "Challenging" is the rating that fits more.

someone point me to a new step file where every other step ISNT dual arrows. sorry for not using the correct ffr lingo, but its just getting repetitive and frankly annoying for my wrist playing one handed.

Dude, it's easier than Bubbleman Stage Theme according to the rating.
Actually, I think I didn't make my point clear; I don't think it makes sense that the steps after the sixteenths would only entertain people that the sixteenths would kill off. Of course I don't expect every new song to be For Masters Only. In fact, I think the n00bs could use a little new material. But that doesn't change the fact that I don't like the song. Shame that you don't welcome any opinions that don't match yours, Fallen, because I'm not getting off the boards because you'd like me to.

nice steps. before i tried playing it i thought it was easy like any other songs cause it is rated as tricky. but in the end it was fun and certainly more difficult than a 'tricky' song. however at the middle of the song there is a boring 10+ seconds stop, don't quite like that part. besides that, it's a well-done song though.

People, stop complaining, compared to the new songs out there now, this is tricky. There are many other harder songs that deserve the harder rating. Shut the **** up now.

I absolutely love the song. The step file is almost perfect in my opinion; I enjoy the simple synth beats and the 16th note streams equally. Some of you may not like the long pause in it, but I think it's very fitting and flows well with the song. It starts off tough, then gets very easy and builds back up to tough again. I love it.

No way. dot death was a masterpiece.

The song rocks.

Meh. The song IMO was standard but the stepfile felt like a hybrid of Water Like Pudding and Bubble Bobble Hillbilly Rodeo in the beginning steps. I treied my four fingers method but it didn't work and I agree with the indexes too. The patterns didn't feel index friendly. But good stepfile overall.

Can you please change all of the songs over to your 6 point system or stick with the current one? This song is not "Tricky." This song was as hard as most songs rated "For Masters Only". :D I know I suck but this is way harder than other songs rated "Tricky" (6). I know u guys want a new rating system but if ur gonna use the new system change the old stuff over. :(
Great song though. just needs to be rated consistently. :)

August 21st, 2005, 03:54 AM
The rating system might have some flaws but your system is the one that needs changing. Based on the about 300k users of this game, Moonbeam is averaged on the Tricky difficulty, not For Master's Only. The reason the song felt like a FMO was because the song was a stream song that didn't let up for the most part. Playing songs like Stalled Out and Sushi Bars and Water Like Pudding will help you in doing streams on FFR.

Love the song, love the stepfile, but it's an example of how f(_)cked up the R1 difficulties are.

Just wanna clear something up about the difficulty complaints.
When I sent it to LD, I had forgotten to give it a foot rating. Since LD usually goes by the foot rating the step artist gives, and sine I didn't put one, he told me he really wasn't sure what to rate it.
So it's my fault :)

Grr...those 16th streams are too long for me to FC yet, though I did get over 700 perfects and a 200+ max combo first time for an initial rank in the top 300.
For some reason, I do better when I'm hungry. I don't know why.

Gah, I now see that the song is Index friendly except that gay frickin 46, 28, 28, 46 16th note towards the middle of the song. My index fingers can't seem to do it.

it is a tough stepfile (to me) but it is also very well done. accurate to the last detail, it flows well and such from the look of it :D I just need to practice more. good to know the rating thing was a bit of a goof :) but anyway this is quality stuff. I hope the music artist submits some more goodness.

Agreed. Tokzic I'd smoke you any day of the week and this stepfile is still challenging enough to be fun. Very good job Tank.
PS. Nice MP scores Tokzic, I highly doubt you have FC'd this song yet if you can't even pass dot death, so stop acting so presumptuous.

I actually agree mostly with the Stepfile rating maybe a 7. The long pause being the main reason, along with the notes in it to help you keep your bar up. The streams follow a pattern as well. Still, I like the song. Nice work.

False. The jacks at the end of X-Dreamer automatically make it harder than this song. Moonbeam is simply a bunch of streams and 16ths.

I like it, it's extremely index friendly...and althought the void in the middle of the song is a little boring...it's not out of place, and it doesn't bother me at all.
