Default Oh noez Computer Problem

Why does it lag like hell...

Do I have my computer configured wrong?

Because when I try to run FFR, it lags like crazy and goes to 100% CPU usage and fries or something and it gives me random goods and av misses

That's plenty of RAM, especially for WinXP, so that shouldn't be the problem if you aren't experiencing problems elsewhere.

Maybe it's just Flash; you could try installing it again from Adobe. Though I really don't know.

Is it just FFR that is doing this?

How long has this been happening?

I suggest a clearing of the cache and a reinstallation or an updating of your Flash files.

If not, run some spyware programs.

For starters, here's what I say:

- Clear out your Cache
- Update to the most recent Adobe Flash Player (I think it's 10)
- Run through your computer with a free virus scan and check for anything out of the ordinary
- Make sure all your programs are cleared out, specifically ones like AIM that run without being on your Taskbar
- Defrag your hard drive

Hope this helps!

No. For basically every program running.

Since 3 month ago.

Open the Task Manager when you're getting the 100% CPU, and go to the processes tab.

Which process is using the 100%?

System Idle is always maxed out.

If Firefox is getting more than 1 or 2%, then you might have a corrupt version of Firefox. Uninstall it and reinstall it.

Yeah, firefox shouldn't do that. Do what Squeek said, if that doesn't work, you may have a virus.

I assume you have 2Gb RAM in your machine. The reason it shows 1.93 Gb on your system info is because you have graphics hardware (/video card) that shares memory with your system. Basically, 0.07 Gb (70Mb) is being used to store your display and any textures, 3D vertex data etc. This memory is unavailable to the system.

A system/video card with dedicated graphics memory will perform better on graphics applications. Though it might not affect FFR R1 much since its graphics handling is fairly simple.

[Just for info, since you seem to have solved your problem]
