Default A world without...

...Electricity... I have recently read the book 'One Second After', a post apocalyptic book about life after an EMP. That means, all electronics would be turned off in an instant and society would be cast back into the "olden" days.

Do you think you could live? Would you find a group of close friends and family to live with? What would be YOUR special skill (medicine,food...etc.)?

I actually spent some time like that, and it's not as bad as people think. Go have a trip in the forest for a few weeks, and you'll see that it's not too hard to live like.

Lmao we had a blackout in Toronto which means no electricity for like 2 or 3 days. People actually died. At least it was just the stupid ones.

I'm all about electronics, but camping is amazing. just throwing yourself out there with no electronics. its the best. unless your friends smoke and get paranoid thinking every noise is a bear or mountain lion.

I was there for that Toronto blackout. Everyone went to the beach. I remember it fondly because during that blackout, the ceiling of our bathroom caved in with water. (We lived in an apartment at the time btw,)

I wouldn't enjoy it but I definitely could survive. If there were no government either, that'll be different.

Chances are most people would be able to survive without electricity. We would still be living in large communities, and would probably have no trouble establishing means of public contribution to aid in food production, future shelters, and other necessities.

Without any electronics to keep people occupied, people would most likely start being unable to tolerate the boredom, and be much more motivated to work and do things that need to be done. I suppose there would be those who might not be able to adapt to life without electronics and perhaps commit suicide, but aside from the initial widespread panic and hysteria, adapting to this life wouldn't be too difficult.

Most likely since I wouldn't have needed such survival skills before the power outage, I would be unprepared at first. I would imagine that I would start talking to people who are skilled at hunting and growing crops to learn how to complete such tasks myself (or ask to work with them to get a share of food for my survival). Since I live in a rural area, this shouldn't be any sort of daunting task.
